21.01.2022 SONNY CHUA’S SUDDEN PASSING 9 September 2020 Almost each day I teach piano, I hear the music of Sonny Chua. At 52, Australian composer of fantastically fun, dynamic & character filled pieces has left us. However as with all great artists, he lives on in the music he created. I don’t think I have ever had to explain to a student that one of their composers has died before. Gee this legend will be missed.

13.01.2022 A HAPPY SOUND FOR YOUR THURSDAY I first heard Slava Grigoryan and his brother Leonard play in Corowa in the early 2000’s. The community who organised the fabulous sold out performance sat myself & my cellist friend, Lurene McCleary across from the brothers at dinner. A special treat. The performance was at the Catholic Church in Corowa with the performers perched on a very high platform built by members for the occasion. As a result, there are a number of Grigoryan albums in the Musiteachers’ library. Enjoy the magic between this fine couple (husband & wife).

I can't guess how term 4 will look like, but here is a pic of the Friday 11am Musikids online class at the end of last term. 01.01.2022 THE MUSIKIDS SPRING BREAK BEGINS What a ride we’ve been on together this term!Border closures, being physically apart from friends & family, mountains of confusion, sunny days, rain showers, and Musikids online. We did it! We got through it! Since March, the Musiteacher has delivered well over 400 classes & lessons online. This is what I would read at the beginning of each day. A reminder to me of how fortunate I am to still be teaching Music to you As we get used to ...another way of doing things, similar to the old, maintain your peace. The traffic has picked up especially around Albury already. I see impatience building. But I also see the kindness. Those who wait and with a knowing smile motion for you to go ahead of them. After thanking them, you might like to remember to pay the gesture forwardWe have been patient for months. So let’s keep practicing this useful skill. Have a lovely weekend my Musifamilies.
