22.01.2022 ***SUSPENSION OF ACTIVITIES DUE TO RENEWED LOCKDOWN RESTRICTIONS*** As you may have heard, the Melbourne Metropolitan area will be going into Stage 3 lockdown once again from 11:59 PM Wednesday 8th July for the next six (6) weeks. Unfortunately, this means that we will need to suspend all club activities once again from tomorrow night and all current training bookings will be cancelled.... We are sorry to have to deliver this news so soon after reopening. We will work closely with MUS and keep you updated as soon as new information comes to light. In the meantime, we're thinking of you all, stay safe and keep informed by following Victoria's DHHS website: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/victorias-restriction-levels-co.
22.01.2022 *** UPDATE ON RE-OPENING *** Good news everybody! We're coming back soon! ... With the latest update on COVID-19 procedures from the Victorian Government, Melbourne University Squash Club is putting together a plan to be approved for a return to active club activities as soon as possible. While the Government has released information regarding dates for the recommencement of indoor community sporting activities, we have overlapping responsibilities with the University, Melbourne University Sport and the Sports Centre itself to process through. We are currently working on a plan to deliver a safe and enjoyable squash experience to all our members. This plan needs to be in compliance with all our responsibilities (which have only recently been formalised). The Committee will keep you posted on any updates as we get them, but rest assured we will be working hard over the next week to put in place a "Return to sport" plan that is granted approval so we can recommence some club activities! Please be patient and EXCITED! See you all at the courts soon!
20.01.2022 Cheers to 2021 & a very Happy New Year to all!

15.01.2022 IMPORTANT NEWS! WE ARE OPENING AGAIN! As of Monday 6th of July, the Squash Club has be granted permission for a conditional reopening. Melbourne University is proceeding with a staged re-opening of their sporting clubs, and so we will be adding activities to our club agenda over time as permitted by both the University and the Victorian Government. To begin, Melbourne University is permitting us to recommence pennant training for Pennant and Reserve members, with restr...icted availability. We have access to Monday and Thursday, from 5.45pm till 8.30pm, on all 4 courts. The process for these training sessions is different to pre-COVID. We are restricted to 2 players per court, and only 8 people may be in the court area at any one time. Sessions will be 45 minutes in length, and must be pre-booked in allocated slots using SportyHQ. A link to the booking page, the process, and terms and conditions of anyone attending training will be attached to our Facebook page and included in a club email. All players MUST abide by new COVID terms and conditions. Any breaches will involve the temporary suspension of access rights. We must all do what we can to ensure the Sports Centre and Squash Club remain COVID free. As part these conditions, all players must complete an online certification of the condition of any COVID-19 related symptoms, a link to which will also be included in the terms and conditions post. No player may attend training having been diagnosed with COVID-19 (until cleared) or with any symptoms associated with COVID-19. All players must also comply with social distancing requirements (see the terms and conditions). While we are excited that the club is beginning to re-open, we are conscious of the ongoing effect of the closure on members. Consequently, we will extend all pennant and reserve memberships that expired after the March 16, 2020 by six (6) months. We will extend all social memberships by at least six (6) months up to the point we are able to bring social members back into club activities. We expect this to occur soon, so please bear with us. Welcome back to the Club! We hope to be seeing you all at the courts soon! *** Note, Melbourne University is NOT accepting social bookings outside of our allocated times from any person.
14.01.2022 A very Merry Christmas from MUSC

09.01.2022 *** TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ACTIVITIES (DETAILS BELOW)*** The committee has undertaken to suspend managed activities operated by Melbourne University Squash Club to assist in the social distancing program required to address COVID-19. While we regret to have to take these measures, the health and safety of our members and our wider community must take priority.... The suspension will include the following activities: --- 1. League Squash (Pennant) From this time forward, the Club will cease to field teams in pennant competition at all grades. This follows the moves the Kooyong LTC (confirmed), Grace Park LTC (suspected), Squash Australia, the WSF and the PSA who have all suspended their squash competition operations. The Club's suspension will be effective immediately. The Club intends to support our players by paying walk-over costs for the week (should there be any), and will inform opposition Clubs and Squash Victoria. --- 2. Womens' In-House This competition will be suspended until further notice. --- 3. Social Squash Social squash will be suspended until further notice. However, the Club will maintain the bookings on the courts and they can be used by social members of the Club. There will not be an organiser present, nor access to Club racquets and balls (for hygiene purposes, as advised by Squash Australia), so users will need to bring their own. For those intending to continue using the courts, please ensure that you share the courts responsibly with 12-15 minute rotations. --- 4. Learn to Play Learn to play will be suspended. Arrangements will be made to reposition the training sessions with the participants. --- As, at this time, Melbourne University Sport is remaining open, the Club will maintain all rostered training times for members to use. Again, there will be no access to Club racquets or balls (for hygiene purposes, as advised by Squash Australia) during these times. As always, please take appropriate safety and hygiene measures. We hope to be back at full operation as soon as possible, but, as mentioned, we must place as a priority the health of the members, organisers and wider community. Ideally, this situation would only last a few weeks, and Melbourne University Squash Club will be monitoring the situation and taking advice from Squash Australia, Squash Victoria and Melbourne University Sport as to further changes. If you have any questions or queries, please don't hesitate to contact the committee on Facebook or [email protected].

These are below: - All players must enter from the North door near the front desk to the Sports Centre, and exit through the South (main). You may not enter the building before your allocated time, so all stretching etc must be conducted prior to entering. You may not linger after your booking, and must exit after your 45 minute allocated slot. A small buffer is included to allow for this. On entry and exit, you MUST scan in a QR code administered by MUS to allow for contact tracing. If you are last on, please put the sanitizer back in the cage. - Bring your own full drink bottle. The sport centre drinking fountains are currently not permitted for use. - Limit contact between members. No shaking of hands is allowed, and contact with other players should be limited. Allow for stoppages to address sweat. - If you must cough or sneeze, please do so in an appropriate manner to stop the spread of COVID-19. Wash and sanitize hands following. - Conduct play as agreed and comfortable with the player sharing your booking. People will have different comfort levels with COVID-19. If that means drills where you are separated, do so. Let's get through this together! - Have fun!
