19.01.2022 Helpful Mutt Tip A microchip is a teeny tiny transponder that is preloaded with a single piece of information - a number (which is usually 15 digits long). When a scanning facility like a vet clinic or pound scans the chip, they then head to www.petaddress.com.au to find out which registry holds the details for that number.... Once the registry is known, the authorised scanner can log in and obtain the details of the registered owner. This is where it gets messy though.. All too often the microchip still holds the details of the breeder or an ex-partner. These folks often have no forwarding number for the current owner and the process ends there So what can you do to be 100% sure your pet can find their way home? Have your pet scanned for free at your local vet Save it in your phone under their name Ask if they have time to login to check ownership details (If theyre up to date and correct high five to you!) If theyre out of date, update them immediately. Some registries have online systems and some require snail mail applications for updates. There is usually a fee for change of details, about $7-$12. I love every single one of the fur kids Ive met and I can name each of them, looking back through all the photos. But, Emergency Vet life and Mum life takes up all my time and I am looking for expressions of interest to take on Mutt in a Tux.... I would absolutely love to stay on to do the actual events if the new owner would like, but our beautiful clients (and our accountants ) deserve someone great at the helm to manage the non-doggy type tasks in the business. 16.01.2022 None of our dogs do Autumn, let alone Winter. They are all about the warmer months. (Some of them are even long-coated so theres no excuse!) Lucky for them, Kmart Australia has these babies for $35 and they comfortably fit a large Boxer or a Dalmatian (we know that bit from personal experience). The top bit can be opened up or completely removed once the weather warms up again too. What a multitasker! Some assembly is required, but a glass of wine and good company helps ...with that. 15.01.2022 You may have noticed its been a really freaking long time since we posted. Thats because weve been taking an extended break, which is now officially becoming our retirement. With ongoing health issues, family demands and this old pandemic thing, we are saying goodbye to Mutt in a Tux. For those with current bookings, we will obviously fulfil those as planned. ... As a business, its for sale. As a lifestyle, we will miss it greatly. We might be convinced to start er back up in years to come, but for now its goodbye. We have absolutely loved meeting every single pooch, kitty, chicken and snake on this crazy journey. Its been our genuine honour to be included in your weddings, funerals and parties. Thank you to everyone who has embraced our crazy idea, worked alongside us in the industry, and the fur parents who entrusted us with their treasured pets. 13.01.2022 I got to visit the beautiful Lakeview Pet Retreat recently to pick up a pooch, and boy was I blown away at the facilities! We havent our own dogs there yet but have a stalk of their website and keep them in mind for your next holiday. Your only issue might be convincing your doggo that he doesnt need all those fluffy cushions and his own TV once you get home again...

01.01.2022 When youre this fabulously floofy, its only fair that you get to celebrate your folks wedding at the most fantastically breezy spot in Brissy - Mount Cootha! Sammy Pepperbeans channeled his inner Beyoncé as he and his billowing silky coat accompanied Cathy and Lee to tie the knot. This little pocket rocket threw everything into his big performance so he couldnt even stay awake for our post-ceremony walk. Its had being this fabulous ... Thanks to Summit Restaurant & Bar for including Sammy P in their plans x
