10.01.2022 A lot of common sense in this article https://www.news.com.au//news-story/605aea8cb8460e6c823bd7

08.01.2022 Sydney Airport has reported a 97.4 per cent slide in passenger traffic in May. Australia's biggest airport had total passenger traffic of just 92,000 passengers during the month, compared to 3.5 million a year ago. Of this, only 29,000 international passengers passed through its doors. May's decline follows a similar slide in passenger numbers in April. As a result, passenger numbers are down 49.4 per cent so far in this financial year. Yet Government cannot recognise that t...he Airport Transfer (shuttle) businesses are horrifically effected by this. Depending on which News Article you read, it seems the Government has conservatively spend 2 BILLION dollars on propping up the airline industry, with Qantas claiming to be able to last 12 months, and Virgin only 6 months. This was back n March. How many operators of limousines, shuttle buses, coaches, are going to be able to make it past the 6 month point? Financial Review: "Despite its comparatively small size, Regional Express receives about $80 million in government grants funding under the Regional Airlines Funding Assistance scheme and to maintain regional routes during coronavirus. The Financial Review has previously reported support for Regional Express is worth 21.3 per cent of the company’s annual revenues or the equivalent of giving Virgin $1.2 billion and Qantas $3.8 billion. Those figures could grow after Transport Minister Michael McCormack announced on Sunday the Domestic Aviation Network Support scheme would be extended to September 30 and the regional scheme extended to December 31. The Australian government is doing everything possible to ensure the aviation industry is sustained throughout the pandemic so that it can rebound on the other side, Mr McCormack said. As a extension of the aviation Industry in Australia, the Limousine, shuttle bus, coach industry is effected to a greater degree, because some the need to transfer International arrivals has been taken from us, by their need to go into Quarantine. Back in March, the government waived fees including aviation fuel excise, Airservices charges on domestic airline operations and domestic and regional aviation security charges. Imagine the benefit to our small ground transport operators, if we were to receive a reimbursement of our fuel taxes and excise, out tolls and registrations for the previous financial year? Some operators might just make it out the other side of this, or at the lease, be able to assist in negotiations with leasing companies to allow them to last longer, with the hope of a return to some form of business operations. Limousines, minibuses, shuttles and Coaches, #theforgottenindustry #remembergroundtransport

03.01.2022 As the general public, as users of buses, limousines, shuttle buses and larger buses and coaches, please let your local members know how important it is for us, your service providers, to survive this current situation. As a group of small businesses, we will not be heard, State and Federal Governments will not listen let alone act. Major Corporations, those with the contacts and money to allow them to lobby in the right places, are able to put their case to Government, be h...eard, and receive the assistance they need to survive. Small operators do not have those resources, we do not fund political campaigns, so we are simply not heard. If they ignore us long enough, we will either give up, or go broke. This is not the Australia I was brought up to believe in, it is not what I thought a "fair go" was. We ask that you please, contact your local member, if you cannot find an email address for your local member they each have a form on their websites for your electorate, please call them, make contact with them in any way you can, let them know that the GROUND PASSENGER TRANSPORT INDUSTRY (your limousine operators, airport shuttle and minibus companies private bus and coach companies) all have needs, and no one is listening. Let them know YOU care, and if they want your vote, so should THEY care. Please click the like button when you have, and comment below with the name of your local member of parliament that you contacted. I know this is an effort, but every time you drive past a bus of any size, parked on the side of the road, remember the owner of that bus is struggling to survive, and many of them won't unless we get noticed. You can help up to be noticed. Thank You #remembergroundtransport #savemyshuttlebus #savemyairporttransfer #loveaustraliansmallbusiness
