03.01.2022 We are so excited that the ever so important seagrass monitoring program with partner org North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBPC) and JCU: James Cook University, Australia, Australia will continue into the future. Last week NQBPC announced that not only they would be continuing the program but entering a new era of reef and marine stewardship. One that has an awesome mix of high-tech learning opportunities for JCU students and marine researchers alike. The $5 million, five year partnership will see marine science scholarships awarded to students , the introduction of artificial intelligence monitoring and even an underwater automated vehicle or two .... Very exciting times ahead!!!

02.01.2022 Fish barriers can come in many forms from covets in roads to some other man made structures in creeks like this. They inhibit movement of juveniles. Physical fish barrier assessments were updated with on-ground surveys in the Don basin showing large areas of connected stream habitat, resulting in an improvement in grade compared to the last assessment.
