25.01.2022 Challenge Bathurst prep time! We havent raced since march, but we are looking forwards to getting on track in the next couple of weeks for Regularity at challenge bathurst. The mini hasnt been to Bathurst since the 2017 edition of the Bathurst 6 Hour so cant wait to take it back to Bathurst to cut some laps!

25.01.2022 New wheels for Tweety arrived yesterday, fitment is #newmini #jcw #minijcw #notnormal #racecar

25.01.2022 While we are awaiting parts for the new mini, we had another job that was sitting waiting to happen. James' Daily drive Golf GTi was beginning to show some signs of age with the suspension after 300,000kms. We wanted to upgrade the components to something better then stock, so for suspension bushings we went with the best from Whiteline, and for new shocks we got some Bilsteins from S-Sport racing, and we also decided it was time for a mild brake upgrade courtesy of our Pro...duction Car Golf R. We pottered through the day to install the bushings and shocks up front, after a closer inspection on the rear of the car we have decided to hold off on installing the rear bushings for a bit as they surprisingly seem ok at this stage and with hours fading in the day we called it a night after getting the new shocks in the rear. After a quick drive around the block the change was immediately noticable, rattles from the suspension now gone, the car riding the bumps how it should and stopping on a dime with the larger brakes, at 300,000kms its feeling like a brand new car again! #whiteline #gripactivated

24.01.2022 Watching some of the live coverage for state production cars this weekend at wakefield has us itching to get back out on track... We have been prepping the gear to get back out Racing in 2 weeks for the pheasant wood 7 hour, we will get some pictures out of our car very shortly just have a few finishing touches!

24.01.2022 After a great weekend at the mountain the car is home, safe and sound and in one piece! Due to the high temperatures and some recent changes we made Saturday had us on the back step chasing performance. After reverting the changes we had made, we got back down to a low 2 minute 44, which on the used tyres we had on we were thrilled with. With some fresh rubber we are certain the car would have beaten its PB, and if the weather was slightly cooler it could have potentially dro...pped the time quite a bit more as we evidenced a massive performance differential between sessions depending on ambient temperature. Have to thank Dad for Spinning the spanners all weekend on the car, plus taking the car to and from the circuit. Slossy Jnr, Slossy Snr, and Aiden for the awesome company over the weekend! A massive shoutout needs to go their way for beating their previous PB by over 10 seconds through a combination of car development and Slossy getting faster and faster each and every session. Thankyou to Challenge Bathurst for the great event and we hope to be back next year if we can and hopefully with a few more minis too! Thankyou to our supporters Whiteline and Also Oilsplus, Midwest Multimedia, Buttriss Smash and Mechanical, and MWMRacing, we cant wait to get out more throughout the 2021 season! Images and onboard footage to follow shortly!

24.01.2022 First lot of parts has arrived! After scouring the internet high and low, we happened across some of the trim pieces we needed. Tail-lights... Headlight rings And a few other bits and pieces We promptly got to work installing the new tail-lights and now we no longer have a holey pair! Normally we also take our panel beating work to one of our long standing partners Buttriss Smash and mechanical repairs, for this project Nigel advised while it is repairable, a new bonnet would be more cost effective, so he encouraged us to give it a whirl repairing it ourselves since there was nothing to really lose! After toiling away in the shed for a whole weekend, James found another total level of appreciation for the skill, work and eye for detail Nigel puts into all the projects he does for us, needless to say a fresh bonnet is now on order! Next on the agenda is a new found issue of the car no longer starting, which we will detail in the next post, keep your eyes peeled foe the next post #whiteline #gripactivated #newmini #newracecar

Make sure to get in to support two of our partners at the same time and get down to German Performance Garage in Castle hill and say G'day to the team or get in touch with APR Australia to find your closest dealer before the 7th of september!

This will transform the front end of Tweety, and also be a great replacement for the existing bumper thats damaged.... Make sure to go over and check out their websites beyerdynamic.com.au and Syntec.com.au to go and check out the professional level audio equipment they sell, if you are looking for the best gear make sure to hit them up!

New steering wheel installed New shift knob installed Interior put back together New Bonnet test fitted New Bumper Test fitted We have to thank S-Sport Racing for the steering wheel! Next will be the painting of the bonnet and front bumper! With more goodies still on the way for Tweety its only gathering momentum, hoping to get all the goodies in before the first round of the Whiteline Rallysprint series! All these jobs have been ticking over while MWMRacing also has another project stashed away that we have been working on that will be revealed soon for an event in July!

11.01.2022 Over the last couple of weeks we have had more goodies show up for the new mini! Our Yellowspeed Racing Australia premium competition coilovers arrived from MX5 MANIA We also had an AP Racing 304mm quad piston brake kit arrive from V-Sport! ... Cant wait to have these fitted into the car which is one of the goals for this weekend! Our key also finally showed up from MINI and we can now start and move the car again! #newmini #gofastbits #apracing #yellowspeedracing

11.01.2022 More assembly on tweety! The cars still slowly edging towards having all the damage repaired from when we got it. Still have to install the splitter, and locate an undamaged front left wheel arch! ... Once the bodywork is complete again we have another project in the works we have to finish, then it will be onto the drivetrain upgrades and modifications on Tweety! #mini #newmini #racecar #gripactivated

08.01.2022 Over the weekend we snagged the opportunity to spray some colour onto the front end panels of Tweety! Once it has cured for a few days we will start putting some of the trims on the car and dummy fitting everything onto the front end! (See how many minis you can spot hiding in the background) ... #newmini #gripactivated #mini #newracecar

08.01.2022 The first major curveball! After starting some of our cosmetic repairs on the car we now affectionately call "project Tweety" we suddenly got thrown the curveball of Tweety deciding not to respond to the key. Each time you insert the key fob into the slot, the car is meant to go into accessory after reading the immobilisor and then will allow you to start the car. Unfortunately it decided it didnt want to even reach accessory. ... We ordered another key slot hoping it was simply worn out, no go, so James tore into the dash to check that the cable wasnt damaged, after checking it appeared all ok, so after much fiddling and troubleshooting we could get the car to confirm it was mis-reading the immobilisor chip, as it would register incorrect key. While in the dash James has begun removing some of the non-essential items for a racecar such as airbags and radios. A key has now been placed on order from BMW as we patiently wait till we can start the car to move it into the shed for the next phase of stripdown and build.

06.01.2022 While we are all couped up at home, i know we are all looking for something to do. We have been taking the oportunity to knock over some of the projects we just havent had the chance to get to. James has been saying for the last couple of years that hes wanted to get out and have a crack at the Whiteline Tarmac Rallysprint series, just before the pandemic situation an oportunity came up to get an R56 cooper S, the next generation mini from our Australian Production car.... We will be posting progress shots as we work through the build of the car, with our goal being to get out for the 2020/21 rallysprint series. Our build plan is: Build the car to a standard that allows us to run across multiple categories National Cage Adjustable Coilovers Complete preventative engine maintenance New Clutch Limited Slip Differential Brake Upgrade Exhaust 17 inch wheels Whiteline Adjustable rear swaybar and bushed We have a number of people and companies who will be assisting us throughout the build process. We would love you show them support by checking out their products and getting in touch to see what they can do for you! Firstly we will be attacking some of the cosmetic repairs, stay tuned for the next progress update! #gripactivated #newmini #racecar #whiteline

06.01.2022 We have uploaded some onboard footage from the weekend in the mini, attached is Race 1 in the rain! This race was a blast with James starting 28th, and finishing 6th outright

05.01.2022 Some assembly taking place on Tweety today! We got hold of some wheel studs and spacers to get the car sitting on the ground again, after reassembling we decided to give the shed a bit of a cleanup and keep going with our next jobs on Tweety. We got the new M7 heatshield from Orranje Performance mounted up (mainly just for looks for now as the engine has to come out for a timing chain and clutch) ... We also installed a new turbo inlet elbow to get the idle under control as it had an air leak. (Thanks again to Beyerdynamic by Syntec) After the paint we needed to give the clear a light wet sand to smooth it out, and with a buff and polish its now looking great! After giving the same treatment to the Aero bumper we assembled it and must say its starting to look like a car! Next will be some more reassembly including reinstallation of all bonnet trims and installation of the splitter. Slowly ticking the jobs over as we count down to the Whiteline rallysprint series. #gripactivated #newmini #racecar

04.01.2022 New project prototype on the way, any guesses what it may be?

03.01.2022 Next project completed Just has to go off for rego now and its ready for usage! This 330i we got with a blown head gasket, so after some hard work attempted a head gasket swap in the car we ended up just putting a wrecker engine in. We sent the wheels off to get the manky black paint stripped off, and proceeded to tidy them up and paint them in Ferric Grey metallic.... After some tidying it has come up quite a nice car. See more

02.01.2022 Suns out, thought we would get tweety out too! #mini #newracecar

01.01.2022 On what can be said was a freezing weekend we pulled the MR2 out for some love!

01.01.2022 I know we said no more for a bit but the last exterior component arrived for Tweety today, we can officially say the exterior is complete! Now Tweety will be stashed away for a little bit while we prepare for the Pheasant wood 7 hour!
