08.01.2022 Following are ROAD CLOSURES or partial road closures IF it's FLOODED - Forget it. Media:- Not for media use without permission... PLEASE LIST ANY flooded roads in comments and we will keep updating this post M1 - POLICE have closed the M1 at Tugun near Exit 95 due to flooding. No further southbound traffic will be allowed until further notice, with the Tugun Bypass closed at Stewart Road due to flooding at Chinderah. The M1 is also closed in both directions between the Tweed Heads exit and Tweed Valley Way at Chinderah due to floodwaters. Just after 11:00am on Saturday morning Emergency Services re-opened two lanes northbound with the remaining lanes hopefully being re-opened later on after the clean up is complete. Ashmore - Ashmore plaza and surrounding streets (not confirmed Cotlew street) Bonogin - -Hardy’s Road is closed in both directions between Bonogin Road & Glenmore Road Biggera waters - Morala road - Hollywell road Burleigh Heads - - Bunyip street - Bermuda Street all southbound lanes are affected towards the M1. - Taree street - Tallebudgera creek road near Tsipura drive. (Fact check for those who don't know TSIPURA drive name was created back in the 80's by some clever person it reads backwards and was done for the Hotel that the road was built for ) Carrara - Acona street under bridge Coomera - Days road (near world Gym) Helensvale - The M1 in both directions near Tamborine Oxenford Road Labrador - Government road - reports of usual areas awaiting updates Miami - Flash Flooding The Gold Coast Highway all lanes southbound are affected between Hythe Street and Kelly Avenue Nerang - Lawrence drive is FLOODED DO NOT ATTEMPT - Latimers crossing Drive Gilston Flooded ORMEAU - Goldmine Rd is running like a river across the road under the Train Bridge. Do not attempt to cross, detour around. Oxenford - Oxenford exit m1 FLOODED - Parts of Siganto Drive under Water - Maudsland road - Oxenford Tamborine road PIMPAMA - Kerkin Road North The one way bridge over the weir is overflowing and unsafe to cross. - Jacobs Well Rd Around the area of Kings Christian School is flooding and unsafe. Take caution.
