25.01.2022 One sentence tip - Don't say it, unless you mean itOne sentence tip - Don't say it, unless you mean it

23.01.2022 Little miss Bonnie practising her homework today...

18.01.2022 After yesterday's post on Bonnie in her crate, I thought I'd answer a few queries as to the benefits of crate training. Pros - * impulse control *manners... *respect *threshold manners *focus *safe haven from toddler fingers *toilet training *prevents chewing, digging, barking *RELAXATION And... *your sanity saver if a young dog.... (they need to sleep many hours in a day, otherwise they get mouthy) Negatives - *ugly as hell in ya loungeroom..! For anxious dogs, it is the absolute first port of call for most. Safe haven. For pushy dogs, one of the easiest ways to start teaching manners. Pic of my own set up

17.01.2022 Remmy's update.. Structure has been pretty intense this week, for this little girl. But... no more toileting inside, no more barking, no more jumping. She has however, decided she wasn't a fan of going IN her crate. So today, we spent some time addressing that. Watch as she learns, there is no choice about going in, but there are rewards for doing so. Crate training is also great opportunity to teach threshold manners - door open, means use it with respect. Great job guys

11.01.2022 Peppers update.. Calm, calm, calm! Everything for this little missy is about learning how to be calm, controlling impulses. Her walking is coming along just nicely, so now we are implementing the 'place' command (on ya bed), how to greet guests, how stay calm when mum & dad are leaving the house, & how to just be outside without losing her marbles. Well done baby girl, you got this!

08.01.2022 Dougall's update.. Sometimes my heart just melts for owners who found other methods weren't working for their dog, are willing to put themselves out there, try something new, & have beautiful results. Dougall is MORE than half his owners weight. She needs to get back control before something dangerous happens - & look at what she is achieving!

08.01.2022 Welcome Flo & Bandy! Flo - is a sweet little princess, with some dog reactivity, & very minor anxiety. Bandy - on the other hand, has slightly more serious issues, as he's not too fond of people either. And with nearly 45kgs of lunging muscle, I got to practice my swift 'ninja moves'.. Fortunately they walk really nicely, & have a pretty good foundation. I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in with these two munchkins. Head down, bum up.

06.01.2022 Yup, this is how a dog trainers dog sleeps...

04.01.2022 Bonnie's update.. This little poppet is coming along just beautifully in most areas. She able to go to work with mum, & still keep practising (she even has a crate at work). And even relatives are noticing a much calmer demeanour. She is sooo sweet. But her reactivity does still get the better of her at times. So we are trying different strategies to help her through those hardest times. Its going to be a long haul to undo her reactivity, but her owners are so committed, I have every confidence she's gonna do it..!

04.01.2022 * Experiment * Since I started sharing all memory posts back to this page each day, the 'people reached' seems to have dramatically dropped. Apparently Facebook doesnt like it.. So, I'm going to stop sharing them, & see if current posts are then actually coming up on everyone's general feed. If you see this post, & you luv watching the progress of dogs each week, please feel free to share any of my posts, comment, or just hit like. And just for fun - post the cutest pic you have of your pooch in the comments below

03.01.2022 Another dog killed today in Perth. I dont know full details. But please, unless you have 100 % control - not 95% - then keep your dog on lead. It is NOT cute when a little dog harasses a bigger one. It can cost their life!!!!!!
