24.01.2022 Every 25 Minutes, one of our Fathers, Sons, Brothers or Mates is told they have Prostate Cancer Everyone is affected by prostate cancer in some way, whether it be the men diagnosed, or the family and friends that watch them and assist them in dealing with this disease. Many men are also reluctant to visit their GP or discuss prostate cancer - and that is where we can help. This month the Prostate Cancer Foundation is holding "The Long Run". It is both an awareness campaign ...and a fundraiser that helps provide specialist care nurses for men undergoing prostate cancer treatment. It's simple and you can help too: Join Up online https://www.thelongrun.org.au/fundraisers/MyHealthCity There are 3 ways to be involved. 1. Walk with us! Register on our team (it's free) then simply run or walk 72k over the month of September. That's a really do-able 2.4km a day. 2. Sponsor our team with a donation. Every little bit helps to provide specialist nursing staff to help men with Prostate Cancer. 3. Help save some men's lives. Men - Talk to your doctor about Prostate Cancer. Women - Send a man along to a doctor - us guys can be reluctant and we need a bit of a push sometimes :) The doctor will tell you if you are in a higher risk group and if you should have a simple PSA test. Relax it's just a blood test - you're not going to get a finger up the back door :) Together we can save more lives.
