10.01.2022 Welcome to the new reality. Don’t like it? Neither do we! The last month has seen over 210,000 hectares of Kangaroo Island, over 100,000 sheep and cattle, 89 ho...mes and 296 outbuildings all destroyed by a bushfire that turned full trees into bare, black sticks and homes and sheds into piles of twisted up corrugated iron and rubble. The overwhelming support of the local community has really shown how lucky we are to call this place home, even during the times like we are currently experiencing. I encourage anyone and everyone to book a holiday to Kangaroo Island or even purchase their local products, we need it now more than ever. It’s time to look after your mates and ask them how they are going because right now they will be feeling down and in need of a helping hand. It’s going to take a long time for this place to get back to where it was. Kangaroo Island is hurt and damaged but we are far from done. We are still open for business and tourism and there is still so much to see and do so come have a look - not very often you get tickets this cheap!
