19.01.2022 I felt it last week. For want of a better word it felt like BLAH! Symptoms included lack of energy, lack of motivation, starting something and not being able to finish it, uncertainty about tomorrow and just little stabs of anxiety, that wouldn’t last because I was aware of them and kept putting up the wall to block them. 06.01.2022 5 years ago today one of my greatest teachers passed. Just 9 days prior to his passing I attended his weekend conference in Melbourne. This was a lifelong dream for me, to hear Dr Wayne Dyer speak, so the timing was divine. The previous year I missed his conference by 3 days in Hawaii. Then he announced he would be coming to Brisbane. Although this is a city loved by many, I have never really liked it (sorry), and just couldn't bear to see him there. So I held on, believing... he would come to Melbourne, and he did. I figured I would put his teachings on manifesting to the test. I bought my ticket, booked myself into a hotel for the weekend so I could fully immerse myself in the conference. Like everything in life the lessons often present themselves in their own way. I went to the conference wanting to learn more about our consciousness and connection to the universe. Yet the whole weekend the messages I kept writing down were around parenting. One line I will never forget is "your children are from you, not for you" , meaning they are their own spirit, their own being, with their own life to lead. They are not here to live your life or your choosing. It was a powerful message and as the parent of a willful determined boy, I felt like he was speaking directly to me. When it came time to get myself a book, I chose kids books for Charlie and was fortunate to have Wayne sign them. To be in the presence of this great teacher is something I will never forget and one of the best 3 days of my life. I still believe in the power of manifesting, although this year has tried to test that. But I'm rethinking many things before I set my next round of intentions. We lost a great teacher that day, but his books, lectures, DVDs and documentaries are still available for whenever I need that reminder. See more
