23.01.2022 #Repost head to Common Ground Australia and give them a follow !! Click the link in our bio to learn more about the Stolen Generations #repost... Wednesday May 26 is National Sorry Day - a day to remember and acknowledge the mistreatment of First Nations people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities. Today we know them as the Stolen Generations, and we pay tribute to their remarkable strength and resilience. We also reflect on how we can contribute to the healing process of our people and nation. And we demand change, because sorry means you don’t do it again. With more than 20,000 First Nations children in out-of-home care, the situation is worse now than it was 20 years ago. Our kids need culture. Our kids need community. And our kids need family So we can continue the transfer of knowledge and oral culture between generations. This National Sorry Day, listen to the voices of First Nations families and stand with us in solidarity. #NationalSorryDay #NationalSorryDay2021 #StolenGenerations #OurKidsBelongWithFamily #BringingThemHome #FamilyMatters #StolenWages See more

15.01.2022 The Oz International Student Hub (OISH) is open! Our CEO, Alex was so excited to attend the launch of this incredibly important space last night. A fantastic partnership led by Sydney Alliance and Sydney Community Forum and supported with space by Go Study Australia. Our Federal government deserted international students when COVID hit and told them to go home, but despite so many of them facing homelessness, hunger and workplace exploitation THEY. GOT. ORGANISED. OISH is ...a place for international students to get support, access training, learn about workplace and tenancy rights. It's a place for them to feel safe and welcome. If you work with international students, please refer them to the amazing hub in 2/72 Mary Street, Surry Hills. Find out more on their FB page. [Pic is of Alex with two amazing organisers Diana Olmos and Paola Fallon smiling against a colourful backdrop] #internationalstudents #OISH #communityorganising
