03.01.2022 How to build any business better and easier. Just use blocks! Part 2 in the series. Last week we started talking about the building blocks to a better business. The reason behind the straight forward approach to using the building block analogy is about keeping the process simple. Most business owners continue to run around in circles wondering what to do next, putting out one for after another, or randomly coming up with one idea after another, that tackles that lack of sale...s they're making. The concept is easy to understand. Get the fundamentals right in each of the building blocks and any business starts to make more sense and you are much clearer about what needs to be done next. There are several reasons businesses don't get the result they want, but predominately there's one simple underlying problem. There's no strategy to anything. Most businesses, their owners and teams just "wing it"! Every part of every aspect of the business needs a strategy. The image and brand Staff and their roles The product and ongoing innovation The marketing And most definitely the sales and service processes need a strategy. The process of going about that is simple. What's the objective for starters? How's it going to happen? What will you need? What will everyone need to do? Let's say the objective is a marketing plan, that results in 100 new customers enquiring every month. What advertising or lead generation is that going to require? What's the budget for that? How do you review the results and how often? When the leads come in, what happens? What's converted, what's not and what happens? If the strategies are in place and you actually do what the strategies said you were going to do, then you're going to get the result planned. The only reason you don't, is the strategy didn't happen, or it didn't work as planned. In that case, you review, change and keep going. Test and measure.
