25.01.2022 Superhero to the rescue! On good authority, Catboy, comes to solve the problem. This Catboy was for Brayden’s 4th birthday. The cake was a 2-tiered vanilla sponge layered with Swiss Metingue Buttercream. it was decorated with fondant. Happy Birthday Brayden. Until next post, please like and share the page.......and eat cake!

24.01.2022 What to make for a crazy, fun-loving, chocoholic friend who is a blessing to everyone around him? An Acrostic cake.....well that’s what I came up with anyway. Here’s hoping you enjoyed you birthday and cake....chocolate mud with chocolate ganache between layers, topped with an acrostic just for him.

23.01.2022 Even a small celebration can be special. Happy 70th Bruce. A man who loves his tractor and his little dog. Bruce is celebrating with a beautifully moist but light vanilla cake covered in fondant. Hope you have had a great day, Bruce. Until next post, please like and share the post.....and eat cake!

23.01.2022 Congratulations and blessings for wonderful friends who married today. Both are avid readers hence the book design cake. Three of the cakes were chocolate mud with chocolate ganache between layers. The other two were caramel mud with caramel ganache of course. Hand-molded flower sprays softened the look of the book stack. Until next post, please like and share the post/page, ......and eat cake!

21.01.2022 This week, my version of an acrostic.

14.01.2022 Not many couples celebrate a 60th Wedding Anniversary these days, so a massive congratulations to Marian and Grahame. They celebrated with family, enjoying a super moist carrot cake, layered and sandwiched with lemon cream cheese filling. They both love red roses so I created a spray of fondant roses to sit on the heart-shaped cake. So glad you were happy with your cake. Until next post, please like and share the page......and eat cake!

11.01.2022 Saturday lunch with good friends requires dessert. Flavour of the day was butterscotch/caramel. I decided to bake some exquisite little choux pastry profiteroles, which are not nearly as difficult as they sound, just constant, energetic stirring while cooking the roux. I replaced the creme patissiere with butterscotch custard and filled each profiterole. Place them in the shape, sticking them together with melted chocolate. The final touch is to drip freshly made caramel sauce, made from a toffee base. My only regret was not making it prettier with some little fresh flowers. Not to worry, it tasted great! Until next post, please like and share .........and eat cake or dessert!

10.01.2022 The parties have begun. What better way to start 2021 posts than with a bday cake for a very special little girl, who turned 2. A vanilla biscuit cake! Layered with a lactose-free cream cheese filling, and topped with macarons, covered cookies, marshmallows, strawberries, meringues and sprinkles.....mmm where to start. Stay tuned for more cakes of every shape and style this year. Remember, till next post, please like and share the page......and eat cake!

10.01.2022 Sprinkles and colour everywhere for this birthday boy.....and a surprise stash of sweetness inside. The six cake layers were all sponge, sandwiched and covered with Swiss Meringue Buttercream, which has become my ‘go to’ buttercream as it isn’t as intensely sweet as the American version I used to use. A beautiful fondant rainbow topped this fabulous cake. I am so glad you liked your cake, James. Until next post, please like and share the page .......and eat cake! Laura Nel

09.01.2022 Chase, who is just 4, likes life to be a puzzle...or should that be a maze! It‘s apparently even better to watch hamsters navigate the maze. Lol. So I created a cake for him, with his name and age as mazes, a maze around the board and the cupcake tops had a little maze too. To add to the craziness, he wanted marbled vanilla cake. I am so pleased to report that he loved his cake. Until next post, please like and share the post/page with your friends......and eat cake!
