25.01.2022 What a beautiful idea! A US nursing home is seeking pen pals for their residents. We couldn't help but share this lovely lady's request for a pen pal who likes cats!

25.01.2022 It's getting chilly and the BAWCS animal shelter are calling for donations of warm blankets. If you were like us and cleaned out the linen cupboard during the lockdown (with the help of some inquisitive cats), please consider helping them out. If you live local to Bendigo and can't get out to the shelter at Huntly, please pm us as we may be able to pick up your blankets on our travels, to take out with our own.

24.01.2022 Lua was an absolute sweetie to care for while her family had a recent trip away. Who said cats don't get excited to see you? Lua would greet me at the door each visit and after a quick play, a full belly and a lovely brush...it was back to her favourite spot on the couch. Cats are well known to be sensitive to environment changes so allowing them to be 'happiest at home' while you go away is the key to keeping them relaxed.

20.01.2022 Is your cat microchipped? According to our local pound BARC - Bendigo Animal Relief Centre 75% of cats (and dogs) that come through their doors are not microchipped! Losing a pet is stressful enough but not having a microchip makes it even harder to reunite with your furry family member.... BARC is currently offering $20 microchipping if you register your pet with council at the same time. Give them a call on 5441 2209 to book an appointment.

20.01.2022 This is Bob. Bob knows how to relax. Hope you're heading into the weekend feeling as relaxed as Bob.... I looked after this boy and his brother for the first time over Easter, with a combination of overnight stays and drop in visits. He was more than happy to share the bed, in exchange for feeding, pats and lots of play time!

Admit it, we've all done it....and it's always at the most annoying time I recently came to the rescue of one of my (very grateful) clients who had done exactly that! One of the added benefits for my cat sitting clients is that I also offer a lockout service for those who choose to leave a key with me for access. ... Happy client = happy me

16.01.2022 Meet Myrtle One of my newest cat clients, she's a sweet little girl who is quite timid with strangers. I was able to use lots of play to build confidence & trust with me. Along with the "slow blink" technique (direct eye contact can be challenging for a shy cat) and allowing her to come to me in her own time. She even jumped up on the couch next to me for pats & play, while her sister napped on my lap! My heart completely melted when I received this very sweet text...... "Hi Liz, I have some exciting news. Mum and dad had a friend over last night and even though it was a little bit scary, I came out to say hello and got pats. I didn't spend the whole night under the bed like I usually do. Mum and dad think its because I had such a great experience with you that I'm a little more trusting of strangers. Thank you very much. Love, Myrtle."

14.01.2022 It's a warm one out there today Don't forget to make sure those kitties have access to clean cool water and any outdoor cat enclosures are shaded. Please also be careful with artificial turf in direct sunlight as it gets a lot hotter than grass! A great treat to help increase the moisture in your cat's diet are the Dine creamy treats. One of my cat clients Lucy (pictured) loves it when I surprise her with a creamy treat. Hand feeding a treat is such a great bonding experience too.

12.01.2022 Nothing to see here...we're just hanging out being cute Parties might not be allowed in Victoria at the moment but that didn't stop these two having a big night with Mr Plant! Don't worry, no plants were harmed and it was all cleaned up before mum and dad came home.

During a recent cat minding visit, she was happy to show me around...with some grass nibbles and lots of rolling around on the way.... While it may not be suited to every cat, it's a great option for indoor cats to get some safe outdoor play and fresh air

04.01.2022 We have been missing caring for cats during the covid crisis. It brightened our day when we recently received a text from the gorgeous Lucy's "mum". She just wanted to check in and say they will be in touch as soon as they can travel. She also sent through some beautiful photo's, including Lucy's new outdoor play enclosure. (cute photo's alert!) We are so lucky to have such lovely clients and the cutest cats to look after. With restrictions easing, we can't wait to get back to what we love most and allow for Bendigo cat families to once again enjoy holidays!

03.01.2022 My rainbow chard brings all the hens to the yard.... These pretty girls & their handsome leader are lucky their home has a great vegie garden! Chickens are so sweet & inquisitive. It was a real treat to spend time with them on a recent pet sitting visit.
