25.01.2022 One of the most rewarding services I offer is weddings for terminally ill patients. One of those was this beautiful couple back in March of this year. Which some of you may remember. Stephanie Barlow & Corry have a love that will stand any test - even death. With that said it is with great sorrow that after a valiant fight to stay with his family for Christmas, on the evening of Boxing Day Corry peacefully left this earth. ... I am humbly honoured to be able to give Corry the send off he deserves. Date to be advised. Rest In Peace Corry.

25.01.2022 The "Hasanlu lovers" died around 800 B.C. and were discovered in 1972. They died in what seems to be an embrace or kiss, and remained that way for 2800 years.... There are many historical finds of people embracing each other at the time of their deaths however, this one is particularly controversial as both are male and unrelated. There were no obvious injuries to either suggesting they were sealed in a death chamber alive and suffocated. How far we have come - their deaths may have nothing to do with their sexuality, perhaps they were killed for something entirely different. Either way it is their love that is forever celebrated. Just as it should be. Love is love This New Year’s Eve be inclusive, be safe and most of all be kind. www.theafricanhistory.com

24.01.2022 I dont just do weddings. I also do namings and funerals. Although the latter is scarce, I dont mind for obvious reasons. ... I prefer life parties to funerals, and wakes at home to funeral Parlours - unless theres a pretty church involved. I love pretty churches but I also love the simplicity of scattering ashes and having a basic service. My recent booking has me investigating all kinda of options I didnt know existed. You can have a celebrant service with a cremation using your chosen celebrant. Dont ever let a venue tell you you have to use theirs. Ive come across this twice so far and reported both as its illegal. You can have a cremation and scatter ashes after a service using a church if you want to even if the person is not religious and like me just think churches are pretty. There are plenty of non denomination churches for hire that can accommodate. Whatever you need or want Im here for you and I can help you from start to finish.

22.01.2022 Always proof read the ceremony. It is part of the contract between you and your celebrant.

21.01.2022 Don’t fear, I’m still doing my job and heading to NSW this weekend. Not even the predicted snow will stop me. I’ve been tested and I’m fine to travel. Shame about these people.

21.01.2022 And this is still true today 134 years later.

20.01.2022 Good news... BREAKING: Start planning your holiday! Were opening Queensland for Queenslanders from noon tomorrow. Queenslanders will be able to undertake unlimited travel, including overnight stays throughout the entire state, in a major easing of COVID-19 restrictions.... More locals will be allowed in cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs, with an increase in the number of patrons from 10 to 20. From noon on Friday, June 5, venues with more space will be allowed up to 20 people in each defined area if they follow an approved COVID Safe Industry Plan. Well done, Queensland. Our states outstanding response to the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed restrictions to be lifted ahead of a planned move to Stage Two originally scheduled for June 12. 14.01.2022 The other day I was explaining Cousins to my niece who has just had a baby. I was trying to explain who my dads, cousin's children's children would be to her baby... confused? well, I found this... So can you figure it out?

13.01.2022 Something I heard once... A marriage is like rowing a boat with a paddle each. You have to row with the same rhythm and strength to move forward. If you both stop you just drift. Thats ok if you both dont mind. ... If one is stronger than the other, then it just turns in circles. If one takes over the others oar, then the other person may feel less than them and the person rowing may feel alone, strained and resentful. Both can try so hard, but if its not equal its not going to work. Equality is everything. Use each others strengths, strengthen each others weaknesses - but be equal always.

11.01.2022 Pets at weddings... I had a really great conversation with a couple who are involving their cat at the ceremony as a bridesmaid. They are stuck though on if the kitty should be ... carried in by another bridesmaid or the Paige boy trained to walk on a lead pulled in a wagon They dont think they have enough time to train madam pomp (yes thats her name) to walk alone. What would you do? Any ideas for Madam?

11.01.2022 I often get asked questions regarding traditions. Here is an answer to a popular query... Why is a wedding ring worn on the fourth finger? There are a number of theories as to why the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger. I think the explanation given by the Chinese is a beautiful and convincing one. Your thumb represents your Parents ... Your second (Index) finger represents your Siblings Your Middle finger represents your Self The Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner Last (Little) finger represents your Children Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together back to back Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb tip to tip Now, try to Separate your Thumbs (representing the parents), they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong and have to leave you sooner or later. Now join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings), they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives. Next join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children), they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day. Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse). You will be surprised to see that you are unable to do it because your life partner remain together all of their lives and are inseparable. Isnt that lovely? There are other theories of course but this is the sweetest.
