24.01.2022 Dear Valued Patients, In response to COVID-19 and the impact its having globally we would like to inform our patients that we are remaining open. In accordance to the recent Victorian Government announcement Chiropractic falls under Essential Health Services. We will be enforcing Government guidelines and operating with care and careful consideration to keep everybody safe. As this is a rapidly changing event the safety of everybody is our number one priority. Some changes m...ade: All treatment tables will be sanitised and disinfected before and after treatments. All adjustments are performed with gloves and a mask. Door handles, tables, chairs, bench tops are disinfected after each patient leaving. Only one patient will be allowed in the waiting room at a time as we are spacing out appointments. Linen disinfected and changed after every treatment. No handshakes allowed. We are washing our hands pre and post treatments (both practitioner and patient). There is a sticker at the front desk so you can keep a 1.5m distance away from the reception desk. Please note that if you are feeling unwell please stay home and see your GP if needed. Yours in Health, Dr. Michael Ioannidis

17.01.2022 Amongst the 3 people that lost there lives today was this amazing soul. As an adored grandmother , Tina was one of my biggest inspirations. You were taken away from us by the cruelest of circumstances. As the virus rippled through the Epping Gardens facility it unfortunately took you with it. Not being able to see you with the imposed lockdowns and be there to help you celebrate your 90th birthday was absolutely gut wrenching. You came to Australia for a better life and alway...s led by example. Your teachings of simplicity, hard work and core family ethics will live with me forever. As a resident of Epping Gardens you were adored by all with your kind, generous, and affectionate nature . Your generous nature and charisma will be remembered by all. You lived life to the fullest and that's how I will remember you. Your legacy will be with me forever. Love you always Your grandson Michael xxx

09.01.2022 Our lives are constantly filled with deadlines, emails and to-do lists, so how do you manage your emotions in times of stress? Practicing meditation in your life can give you back the power you need to be more present and accomplish your tasks better than ever before.

09.01.2022 Under stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne, although chiropractic practices are permitted to remain open, this is not business as usual. Stage 4 restrictions are ...aligned to Victorias current State of Disaster and are focused on saving and protecting the lives of all Victorians through restricting non-essential movement across the state for the next six weeks KEY POINTS 1. No referral required 2. Routine care is not permitted NO REFERRAL REQUIRED Patients do not need a medical referral to see their chiropractor. ROUTINE CARE IS NOT PERMITTED Stage 4 restrictions are aligned to Victorias current State of Disaster and are understandably focused on saving and protecting the lives of all Victorians through restricting non-essential movement across the state. For this reason, in areas where stage 4 restrictions apply, care must only be provided if the absence of, or delay of this care, would result in a significant change/deterioration in the patient/clients functional independence necessitating escalation of care. Examples provided by the DHHS of when it is appropriate for care to be provided to a patient include the following: 1. To avoid a requirement for specialist input/review 2. To avoid an increase in care needs and/or alternate accommodation 3. To avoid a hospital admission or emergency department presentation. For this reason, care should only be provided if it is considered essential for the next 6 weeks and where not receiving care is likely to lead to a significant deterioration in the health or wellbeing of the patient. In all other circumstances you must not see a patient for a face-to-face consultation. This is a legal requirement. As a practitioner you must exercise your professional judgment when considering whether to provide face-to-face care in the current circumstances. You should now begin screening all patients before they attend your practice to clarify if they need urgent care. Additionally, your patient notes must accurately reflect your assessment for all presenting patients over the next six weeks, or for as long as stage 4 restrictions are in place. The DHHS advised us this morning that if a patient attends for a consultation and they do not meet the definition of need, as set out above, you should not provide care but ask them to return home. Your legal and professional obligation is to abide by these (unprecedented) requirements. You should not try to minimise these or attempt to (indefensibly) justify the provision of care. DHHS has committed to provide us with further information as this becomes available and we will share this with ACA members accordingly. Finally, we strongly advise all ACA members in Victoria to download the PPE for Allied Health in Private Practice Settings Factsheet, updated by the Department of Health and Human Services on 5 August. We will include a link to this document in an email we will send to you shortly.

08.01.2022 Amazing benefits of Figs

08.01.2022 Here are some helpful tips that can make your workspace healthier and more efficient during these times. Alternate between sitting and standing if you can when at your desk. You should maintain a symmetrical body position do not cross your legs, or lean over or twist your body. Your arms should be above the desk. A good way of checking this is making sure your arms are flat on the surface when your elbows are 90 degrees and tucked into your side.... Your screen/keyboard/work surface should be directly in front of you. If you use two screens they should be at a similar height and side by side to avoid too much twisting. Your eyes should be level with the top or just below the top of your screen. Your screen should be about an arm's length away from you. Your hips should be flexed between 90 to 110 degrees if you are sitting. You should have support in the lower part of your back if you are sitting to help prevent fatigue. Your feet should be flat on the floor (or resting on a footrest to keep your hips bent in the right position). Stay well hydrated and drink plenty of water. Eat foods that give nutritional value also. Make sure you exercise and take regular screen breaks. It’s important both physically and mentally. See more
