15.01.2022 My Nanna used to make our Christmas Crackers every year. One year - the first Christmas my husband attended - she couldn’t source the tissue paper hats, and instead put African Animal themed party hats inside He still remembers rocking up to Christmas lunch to be greeted by a room full of safari themed, soon-to-be relatives The tradition of making our Christmas Crackers somehow skipped a generation, so these days it’s my responsibility each year. We start stock-piling th...e loo rolls in November, and then by mid December it's a mad rush to print out some lame jokes, and stuff a paper hat, Lotto scratchy, and a little trinket inside of each one. Whilst the tradition will continue this year, I am happy to report we are upgrading the loo rolls to these rather sophisticated, pre-folded, cardboard versions made by Anerien at Cardboard Hunters. I couldn't resist the crackers Anerien has created using Jocelyn Proust prints. I'd already planned a "Bush Christmas" theme for my table setting this year, so I was super excited when I found these! 04.01.2022 Its the last official day of school holidays for us so Im relishing in a nice, slow morning in bed with Billie. Before we were dog people there was NO WAY I was letting a dog onto my bed! Ha! That didnt last long. She sleeps every night on my sons bed until we go to sleep & then she moves to our room - on the floor, right by the door like shes guarding us from any intruders! As there are lots of new followers whove recently jumped aboard the Creative Finds train, I thought Id say hi, introduce myself, and even play a little game with you if youre up for it? Heres how it works: Theres a little bit about me below, but one point is not true.... Let me know which one you think it is. And Mum, youre not allowed to guess! Not wanting to be narcissistic, but hoping you get to know a little more about the face behind the Pink & Orange! xx 1. I was born in the Bromley, South of London 2. Im a Gemini & so is my daughter 3. I went to a strict Catholic Boarding School in Adelaide where we were not allowed to wear shorts or tank tops, and were fined 20c for sitting on our beds (There was an old, wooden school chair next to each bed, should we have felt the need to rest our legs). I couldnt make this stuff up! 4. I studied Indonesian at University whilst undertaking an Arts Degree 5. Having spent 3 years travelling and working in the UK & Europe, I met my now husband Sam, in a pub near Harrods where he was working in Adult Games. Dont ask. 6. My initial foray into the entrepreurial world was with a Personal Concierge Business in 2002 that I ran for 3 x years. When I sold it, we put a deposit on our first little house. 7. Sam & I were married in Adelaide by the same Priest - Father Tony - who married my Mum & Dad, and they also met in a London pub. 8. My go to party trick is playing Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes on the piano 9. We moved with our very young family back and forth from Adelaide to Sydney a few times and had 6 x houses in 5 x years, before settling into our current home in The Chase 10. Sam, my 2 x kidlets and I, spent a month in Bali for my 40th Birthday 11. Im obsessed with discovering creative artisans and helping them showcase their beautiful products and bring them to a wider audience. 12. I dont have a middle name 13.
