The maximum number of people (at this time) per Elliott-6 will be 3. In order to sail, you will need to complete the MYC COVID-19 Safety Plan Compliance Declaration to attest that you have read and u...nderstand the plan. 09.01.2022 While our MYC competitive team did us proud in Darwin this last weekend, we also had 5 ladies from the MYC Womens Development Sailing group have a very different sailing adventure on Moreton Bay on Qlds only Tall Ship South Passage (SP). Watchleader on SP & MYC member Fiona Fuller put the call out to the ladies group to come experience some traditional sailing through teamwork on this magnificent 100 ft gaff rigged Schooner. No winches on this big lady! Most of the passe...ngers / crew boarded SP at Manly on Friday afternoon, ready for an early departure on Saturday morning. Once Sails were hoisted, SP sailed over to North Straddie with a lovely NW wind behind us, then went ashore for a few refreshments at the Little Ships Club then back on board in time for a yummy dinner cooked by the onboard chef Cath! Sunday was spent sailing across to Moreton Island for a lunchtime swim then back to Manly in a strong SW 25-30 knot wind which SP just excels in! What a great way to finish a wonderful weekend! Thank you to Tabitha McGrath, Ann Porter, Karen Flynn & Catherine Coupe & family for joining this SP voyage & supporting such a great organisation. This is the first overnight voyage that SP has done under Covid restrictions & all went very well. SP is a not for profit youth sail training vessel that usually takes teenagers out on 3-9 day voyages & sails up to Cairns in winter & down to Sydney in summer, but due to Covid, she has had to remain around SEQ, which is great for us adults, as there is now more opportunities to sail on her between Bris & Hervey Bay. Just google South Passage for more info if you & family / friends are keen to join a voyage coming up. Here are a few photos to see how much fun everyone had
