19.01.2022 Disability Rights Australia has shared some very disturbing news. For those who have carers coming into our homes it is a good time to suggest sitting down with your carers and having a plan of action specific to you. I talk to Robs carers weekly about how I am coping, how they are coping, and whether we can improve what we do.

12.01.2022 As a carer to my son I know the extra level of mental stress carers are suffering at this time. I know some of you will be concerned for friends caring alone with little support so please share the tips specific for carers that have helped me cope over many years. You will be able to download each picture in a larger size to print or read.

10.01.2022 Needing to think about solutions, options and deal with the life changing trials and tribulations of caring for another has taught me to be very aware of what is going on around me. I expect you will understand what I mean because of your own journey. I wonder if you are becoming aware that the rhetoric around aged and disabled abuse and rights, which some months ago filled our papers, has been replaced by a rhetoric of fear which has conveniently put a stop to any real progress for those we care for. I would be interested in hearing your opinion about how we could move to get our agenda back on track.

08.01.2022 I have been missing for a while. I expect I feel similarly to all of you. The confusion is palpable. I guess I have settled into a daily routine which involves very little other than just getting through the day. I am no longer concerned about a virus I have no personal experience with. I am more concerned with not being able to travel to visit my dad and keeping my disabled son happy. I have given up wondering when life will return to normal and I notice the lack of news about the care of our aged in nursing homes. It is almost as if the world has stopped turning and I am living in a dream. I pray all of you out there are managing in your own way. I feel confident you are because those who care for others have a strength many others will never understand. Stay well.
