According to Myeloma Australia's Matt Maudlin, It’s all about awareness and local engagement. Significant promotional plans and actions are under way at Myeloma Australia to expand awareness of the myeloma disease and to provide support for people who are living with myeloma .... The expansionary awareness plan will be fully embraced by the ROMP committee and facilitated in country Victoria beginning in March with the support of regional Rotary Clubs who are engaged in the ROMP initiative. 20.01.2022 You’ll be most welcome at the first ROMP Forum for 2021 on Tuesday 23rd February - Building Regional Myeloma Communities A ZOOM Webinar for engaged Rotary Clubs led by Rotary Club of Camberwell with our guest presenter Matt Maudlin, Community Engagement Manager of Myeloma Australia. ROMP? The Rotary Outreach Myeloma Program is an outcome of the more than twenty-year long relationship between the Rotary Club of Camberwell and Myeloma Australia. The ROMP aim is to ensu...re that myeloma patients, their families and carers in regional Victoria have access to similar support that is available in the capital cities and major centres nationally. This will be achieved through the support of many regional Rotary Clubs. Myeloma is a type of blood cancer. There are 20,000 patients in Australia. There is no cure. Simply, No myeloma patient is to live more than one hour from a myeloma support group. ROMP is an authorised "R100" Community Service Program of the Rotary Club of Camberwell - in support of the celebration of the centenary of Rotary in Australia in 2021.
