22.01.2022 "We need more myeloma nurses to support more people living with myeloma to live better and longer lives." We have a vision to support, inform, empower and give hope to each of the 18,000 Australians who are currently living with myeloma. To do this, we need to grow the number of specialist Myeloma Support Nurses around the country, including in rural and regional areas. Today is Giving Tuesday, an international movement that celebrates generosity and encourages individuals, communities and business to thank and support not-for-profits organisations. Please consider donating to help us support more people who are living with myeloma, and their loved ones: https://myeloma.org.au/donate #GivingTuesday #gratitude #generosity

04.01.2022 I was diagnosed in 2014, and I turned to Myeloma Australia for information as I’d never heard of myeloma before. I am a retired Science Teacher and I’ve been married for 47 years to a very supportive spouse. We have travelled extensively, completing five bicycling, tenting trips over much of Europe. We both enjoy community volunteering especially with the Ukulele Club. I am fit, and love to walk, swim, cycle and play jazz piano. I appreciate the ability to read about other people’s experiences with myeloma in the MyeNews magazines and being able to speak to a myeloma nurse if needed. And I can still play the piano even with peripheral neuropathy in my fingers! Glen, living with myeloma since 2014, and a regular donor to Myeloma Australia.

03.01.2022 Here’s next week’s Information and Support Groups. Our groups are currently taking place via Zoom, so people living with myeloma and their loved ones are welcome to join any group.
