25.01.2022 We could all do with a little more exercise throughout our day. Some small changes in your day will do the trick! That walk to the bus stop, taking the stairs instead of the lift, using a manual lawnmower to cut the grass.

23.01.2022 Grace is an active 88 year old who walked in to our clinic about a year ago with a hip replacement and two steel rods on both femurs, unable to walk unsupported without her walker and unable to lift more than 1 kg weight. Having been independent throughout her life, the move to a nursing home facility was a big change for Grace and she set herself a new goal to be able to water the plants in her garden without the support of her walker. Our Exercise Physiologist Jesse presc...ribed Grace a few gentle exercises focusing on movements she would use in her daily life. Too often clinicians underload clients, whereas the main focus should be on gradually exposing the client to different loads, tempo and techniques. Grace is now able to walk with 4kg unaided & can lift 8kg from the ground! Not bad Grace!

21.01.2022 Our client Grant has been coming to the clinic to help with his shoulder pain. Grant explained that he struggles reaching his arm over his head without discomfort for the past 3 months and scans have not shown anything that is not age related. Putting the paper in different positions above and below his head will help the client to not focus on the area of pain. ... Using distraction techniques such as the above can help clients focus on the movement without feeling pain when moving the joint or area of pain. The tissue is not always the issue and sometimes body parts can be sensitised to certain movements.

02.01.2022 Meet Franco, a long term client that experiences lower back pain and reduced grip strength of the left hand following surgery. Franco keeps up an active lifestyle to manage his conditions through weekly resistance training and daily walks (much thanks to a furry new addition to the family ). Recent subjective measures revealed Franco’s back pain is almost completely under control and only slightly limiting daily activities.... See a few key exercises that Franco has been able to increase his tolerance towards, creating positive change to his day-to-day functioning.
