18.01.2022 This girl cracks me up

17.01.2022 Very intense morning with another carer freeing a beautiful Flying Fox who had her wings entangled in 5 places in barbed wire fencing. First thing was to make her a sling to take the pressure off her body pulling on the barbs. Luckily the property owners agreed to let us cut the wire so we could free her wings safely on the ground. It was an intense hour to slowly but surely untangle the barbs without causing any more damage to her wings. She is a bit of a mess but now in ...my care and on medication for up to 2 weeks. Her ability to be released depends on how well her wing membrane heals. Fingers X for this gorgeous girl who is now calm and happily munching on Banana and PawPaw . If you have barb wire on your property please consider wildlife friendly options. I am a licensed and vaccinated carer. If you see bats injured or alone please do not touch them but call 4281 6869

16.01.2022 Delicious lip smacking juicy grape, a perfect treat on a warm spring day when your little body is busy healing itself

16.01.2022 Update - Sadly this poor darling had way more serious injuries than first suspected. He passed away at the vets with sepsis and meningitis. RIP Tony This beautiful boy was found on the road tonight possibly clipped by a car. He has a nasty gash on the back of his head but is presently calm after pain relief, fluids and some honey banana ... The couple that found him were concerned enough to stay by his side till I got there. As we usually name our bats after the people who call in the rescue and he’s a boy...this is Tony See more

16.01.2022 My oldest pup but my baby boy is growing up. First little flight this morning

14.01.2022 Another nail biting rescue this morning. After doing a local colony check I noticed a Flying Fox on the powerline. Unfortunately she had passed but there was a very much alive pup hanging onto her. After 3 nail biting hours of Kookaburras and Hawks flying about, bub crawling all over Mum and at times crying the wonderful Ergon Energy came to the rescue. The little man was dehydrated and exhausted but is now hydrated, fed and snuggled up in bed. What a way to welcome my first pup of the season - Phew Still to think of a name yet

03.01.2022 First 2 bat babies to go to crèche. Mr Fox and Miss Ellie. Always a bittersweet moment to let them go but so very proud to see them on their next step to release. They will now spend the next 3 months learning to be bats and preparing for the big day. Good luck my darlings

01.01.2022 The little Peaceful Doves are now 2 weeks old, doing well and spending some time in the aviary hanging out with the other doves and getting some very important sunshine
