22.01.2022 Who doesn't use Wikipedia? It's a free resource we all take for granted these days. No ads, just information. You'd be annoyed if it disappeared.
22.01.2022 Love, LOVE, LOVE Kate Langbroek / Hughesy and Kate's work with this hilarious podcast about a serious issue! #scammingthescammer See also my own humble effort to address the same subject here - transcripts of my Messenger chats with some dodgy Facebook requests I've accepted: https://tinyurl.com/RomanceScamORama
16.01.2022 Happy Easter and Happy April Fools Day! Google Maps have set up a "Where's Wally" game for a bit of fun - check it out if you're bored over the long weekend
16.01.2022 I recently discovered that, as a member of a local or academic library, you may be able to access a wide variety of video content for free via a service called Kanopy Streaming. There is also a similar service for music called Freegal. Both services have apps for Android and iOS. Well worth checking out! kanopystreaming.com... freegalmusic.com See more
15.01.2022 Some good preventative information about #romancescams here. https://www.army.mil/socialmedia/scams/
09.01.2022 This is a very tough but worthwhile read. It's extremely important for parents to understand and be involved with their children's social media usage. This article is from the USA so I've also posted a link to some Australia-specific legal informtion in the comments. https://williamhenryprince.com//child-grooming-abduction-/
09.01.2022 Have you been looking for a way to save your Facebook Messenger conversations? Sentimental reasons? Forensic reasons? Legal reasons??? ... This helpful Google Chrome extension allows you to save Facebook Messenger conversations in a variety of formats regardless of their length. Highly recommended!
06.01.2022 I have received two voice messages in two days on my landline from someone claiming to be "Alexander Lee" from the ATO, threatening legal action if I don't contact them immediately. It only takes a couple of people falling for the scam to make it worthwhile for the scammers. It's often older people, many of whom still feel a compulsion to ALWAYS answer the phone, who end up falling victim to this kind of thing. reverseaustralia.com is always a great way of checking up on unknown numbers, and a lot of landline phone models have call screening and blocking functions that can be made use of. If the thought of trying to explain some of these things to a non-tech savvy senior fills you with dread, call My Gadget Help for friendly, patient, one-to-one tech support.
05.01.2022 Food for thought...

01.01.2022 ABC's Four Corners did a special last night about romance scams and other online fraud. See more on the Four Corners page.
