23.01.2022 ****UPDATE**** We have reviewed all the guidelines needed to adhere by to be able to reopen MyGym. We need to abide by these restrictions and sadly as a community Gym run by just a couple of volunteers, we are unable to open just yet. There needs to be someone in the Gym at all times to monitor numerous rules such as: Self-distancing No more than 10 members at one time... Members using a towel Wiping down machines once used No members enter that are unwell A through clean and sanitise of the whole gym needs to be done daily. We will keep you posted of when the next lot of restrictions are applied with hope we can open then. We know you are all very keen to get back into it (as we are!) but we need to be able to open safely and follow the government guidelines.

22.01.2022 Access to the gym is all fixed thanks to local Paul Willis! Sorted it in 5 minutes!

21.01.2022 No surprise that MyGym will closed to members from midnight tonight. Hopefully only for 2 weeks but what will be will be. Stay tuned to SA Health updates. The 2 weeks will be added onto your expiry date.

20.01.2022 Members...You asked and we listened!! We have recently purchased new mats, medicine balls, slam ball, leg press and a huge television!! Large back wall mirror coming soon! Feel free to add to the wish list on the white board!

18.01.2022 New mirror for back wall is being installed today after lunch time so please note we will have tradesmen inside the gym during this time. Thank you

17.01.2022 **MYGYM MEMBERS** We think our only option to be able to open the gym anytime soon is to have some more volunteers to help clean the gym. All the equipment and toilets need to be wiped over daily and any rubbish removed from the bins. If you think you may be able to help out please comment on this post what day of the week would suit (anytime is fine) and if we get coverage over the 7 days we can seriously look at opening very soon!!

14.01.2022 Great News MyGym members!! We WILL be able to stay open with the new restrictions! So keep fit and healthy as summer is only around the corner!

14.01.2022 Hi members the swipe card access has gone down tonight and looks like it won’t be fixed until tomorrow! I’ll keep you all posted when it’s up and running again. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

14.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the recent government update with social distancing and business closures we are forced to close doors from 12pm today. We are unaware how long this will last but we ask for your understanding during this time. We hope you can all manage to stay active and look after your health during this time. A perfect opportunity to enjoy more walks/runs through our beautiful reservoir.

13.01.2022 WE ARE REOPENING!!! Thank you MyGym members for being patient and understanding during this time. We know how much everyone has missed the gym and as long as members are vigilant in following the guidelines below, we will be reopening from next Monday 29th June. Thanks also to the local volunteers who offered to help with a daily clean we will be in contact soon. Members MUST follow these guidelines while using the gym as follows:... - Wash hands and use hand sanitiser upon arrival - Wipe down your equipment with the antibacterial wipes provided as soon as you have finished with each piece and also wipe down everything you touch including door handles - Use a towel - Do not attend if you are experiencing any flu like symptoms including cough, cold, sore throat or fever - Adhere to the social distancing rules of 1.5m apart - The shower change room will be out of bounds - Arrive, train then leave! No hanging around permitted There is no need to write down names and times of attendance, the swipe card access logs all of this. Lets get back to being a healthy and fit community!

12.01.2022 UNRACK YOUR WEIGHTS PLEASE Members please try to remember to unrack your weights on the smith machine and the squat/bench presses. We have a broad age group of members and not all are capable of lifting 20-25kg plates from overhead. Thank you

11.01.2022 Gyms are allowed to open again on the 5th June. Until we find out the rules and regulations in regards to cleaning and the monitoring of MyGym we are unable to say if we will be able to open or not. We will keep you all posted via Facebook but here’s hoping!

11.01.2022 Note to members Please be mindful that we are a community-run gym run purely by volunteers. We would appreciate it if you could treat facilities and equipment with respect and clean up after yourself. Thank you kindly

11.01.2022 It appears that our swipe card reader is out of order. Access to the gym through the football change rooms will be open until 6pm tonight. The alarm will still be activated so please remember to put it back on when you leave. We hope to have a technician out to replace it today Sorry for any inconvenience.

09.01.2022 PARTIAL TEMPORARY ROAD & CARPARK CLOSURE The Myponga Memorial Community Centre Car Park and Entrance Road into the oval will be partially closed due to works for the Car Park & Drainage Upgrade to protect sensitive survey pegs and critical height pins. It is anticipated this closure will be in effect for approximately 2 to 3 weeks.... Certain portions of the carpark near the school will be in use with the majority of parking near Clubrooms and road network closed. Stephens Road entrance may also be used and preferred during this closure. Please contact Shane Magor on 0400 254 933 or Peter Raper on 0438 561 215 with any issues or concerns during the partial closure or construction period.

08.01.2022 MYGYM remains open but please adhere to a few rules and common sense to keep it a clean safe place: If you have any flu like symptoms including a cough or fever do not attend the gym until fully recovered. When entering the gym please use the hand sanitizer provided Bring a towel and use it at every visit. No towel = no entry!... When u have finished please use the wipes provided to fully wipe down all the equipment used. Keep the bathrooms clean. If you make a mess please clean it up so volunteers don’t have to do it for you! We have a small community gym with limited numbers and as long as we all follow these common sense rules it should be able to remain open which will help our members physical and mental health while dealing with this unprecedented crisis See more

05.01.2022 Change of plans... mirror is now being installed tomorrow morning.

03.01.2022 Shout out to Brenton Keogh from Dickson Glass for installing our new mirror on the back wall last week. Equipment is all back in place now, so please be careful from now on when returning your kettlebells back to their home.

02.01.2022 In addition to the regularly practiced gym etiquette (like keeping the selfies discreet), it’s very important that gym-goers follow basic hygiene practices. We all need to keep playing our part to help stop the spread.

01.01.2022 Apologies to our members if you are having trouble unlocking the door this morning. We are having some technical problems with the swipe machine/lock and will do our best to have it fixed ASAP!
