19.01.2022 Sadly, 1 in 20 children are born with a birth defect or genetic disease. Genetic diseases are caused by errors in our DNA, the instructions for making ‘us’. DNA is the source of information for all the cells in our body, telling them what to do every second of every day. When something goes wrong with those instructions, it means some part of our body doesn’t function properly, leading to a life-threatening genetic disease like cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, metabol...ic disorders or even cancer. The best way to treat or cure many of these conditions is to correct the problem at the source, to correct the DNA. That’s what gene therapy does. This August we are supporting the Children's Medical Research Institute and Jeans for Genes Day by raising vital funds for research and gene therapy. #jeansforgenesau We will have a donation box at reception if you are able to spare some change when you come in for your appointment or feel free to donate online via this link: https://www.myjeansforgenes.org.au/6030415myhealth

05.01.2022 #WeRememberThem In Flanders fields In Flanders fields the poppies blow... Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place: and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. John McCrae (18721918)
