Symptoms are usually a minor inconvenience but you should still book in to see your GP for an asthma review or if you think you may require treatment. ***Asthma symptoms can be confused for COVID-19 symptoms. Women’s health Paediatrics Chronic Disease Sexual Health Men’s Health Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Minor Surgeries Travel Medicine Mary completed her Bachelor of Science degree in UNSW, after which she decided that a new adventure was needed. She then uprooted her life to Philippines to attain her Medical degree at University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Centre. Returning to Australia after her sojourn, Mary then completed her Fellowship in General Practice in the Northern Territory. She has now come full circle and is back in Sydney with her young family. 09.01.2022 Sadly, 1 in 20 children are born with a birth defect or genetic disease. Genetic diseases are caused by errors in our DNA, the instructions for making ‘us’. DNA is the source of information for all the cells in our body, telling them what to do every second of every day. When something goes wrong with those instructions, it means some part of our body doesn’t function properly, leading to a life-threatening genetic disease like cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, metabol...ic disorders or even cancer.
