10.01.2022 Have you ever heard of brain or cognitive training? As we get older, we tend to use our brains less as everyday tasks become familiar and we fall into a thoughtless routine. Think of your brain like your muscles; if you don't use it, you lose it! Studies have shown that older adults who found creative outlets like painting and other art forms improved several aspects of memory like recalling instructions and processing speed.... There are plenty of fun and interesting ways to keep your brain active and training. Whatever activity you choose, make sure it is new and challenging to you! Learn a complex skill game like chess Read a new book Visit a place you've never been before Learn to play a musical instrument Try new foods Join an activity like sport or dance Try a new art or craft Learn a language Download a brain training app

05.01.2022 We have some exciting news to share Myhealth Logan Village is expanding! Dr Julian Fox opened our humble little medical centre in 2013 and we have quickly grown into Logan Village’s trusted family medicine practice as we have taken on so many wonderful patients. Because of this, you may see some construction going on for the next few weeks as we expand into Jimbos Seafood shop next door, but don’t worry, good old Jimbo will be moving next to the front entrance so you can c...ontinue to enjoy your favourite seafood and see your favourite GPs at the same time. We will be going from a 1 bed treatment room and 4 consult rooms to a 3 bed treatment room and 8 consult rooms so plenty of extra space to look after you and your family. We can’t wait to show you our new centre when it is done and in the meantime if you have any questions or concerns, our friendly reception staff would be happy to look after you.

02.01.2022 From the Chevron to the Handlebar, we support whatever Mo you grow! Movember is an opportunity for men to learn and talk about their health and take action when needed. Here are the top 5 things men need to know, and do according to Movember Australia. 1 Spend time with people who make you feel good. Stay connected. Your mates are important and spending time with them is good for you. Catch up regularly, check in and make time.... 2 Talk, more. You don’t need to be an expert and you don’t have to be the sole solution, but being there for someone, listening and giving your time can be life-saving. 3 Know the numbers. At 50, talk to your doctor about prostate cancer and whether it’s right for you to have a PSA test. If you are of African or Caribbean descent or have a father or brother with prostate cancer, you should be having this conversation at 45. Know your numbers, know your risk, talk to your doctor. 4 Know thy nuts. Simple. Get to know what’s normal for your testicles. Give them a check regularly and go to the doctor if something doesn’t feel right. 5 Move, more. Add more activity to your day. Do more of what makes you feel good. 02.01.2022 #WeRememberThem In Flanders fields In Flanders fields the poppies blow... Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place: and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. John McCrae (18721918)
