25.01.2022 Wishing everyone a safe and happy new year! We may not be celebrating like we have every other year, but we are looking forward to welcoming 2021 with open arms and the hope for a better and brighter year.

24.01.2022 Merry Christmas! May the holidays bring you health, wealth and happiness.

24.01.2022 On the eleventh day of Christmas, Myhealth said to me... Don’t Give Yourself A Christmas Stuffing! Christmas is all about getting together with loved ones to eat, drink and be merry. On this day we tend to enjoy the Christmas feast that has been made for us, but the next day everyone feels the aftermath of overeating; bloated and exhausted with a slight bit of guilt. ... This Christmas be aware of choosing healthier options, avoid snacking on the Christmas chocolates, watch your portion sizes and as tempting as the last slice of cake can be, leave it alone. New Year resolutions are around the corner, let's get started now! - Nurse Monisha and Peta, Myhealth Liverpool

23.01.2022 #WeRememberThem In Flanders fields In Flanders fields the poppies blow... Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place: and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. John McCrae (18721918)

16.01.2022 Are you and your home COVIDSafe? As we take our steps towards COVID Normal, it’s more important than ever that we’re taking the right actions to keep ourselves, our friends and our families safe. We’ve been doing many of these things for months but as restrictions ease, we must remember to remain vigilant in our fight against this virus.... It’s also important that as our state gradually reopens and we begin to take advantage of these new activities, we also understand the additional steps we need to take under COVID Normal. This link is a useful document which highlights the essential points to remain COVID-safe https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au//Are%20you%20and%20your%20home The essentials What everyone must do to stay COVIDSafe. Practise good hygiene and regularly and thoroughly wash your hands If you’re out, maintain physical distancing, keeping at least 1.5 metres away from others Wear a face covering when you leave home (or if you have people from outside your household in your home eg tradespeople) If you feel unwell, get tested and return home immediately Cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow Outdoor activities are safer for everyone For up-to-date Victorian information on coronavirus (COVID-19) visit www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

15.01.2022 Stop the FLU before it gets YOU! If you haven't already received your flu shot, now is a good time to book in while we still have stock - both government and private stock is available. It is recommended to wait 14 days between receiving your COVID vaccine and FLU vaccine so please let reception know if you have received the COVID vaccine recently so they can book in a suitable time.

15.01.2022 An interesting infographic which has looked at different activities and their risks for covid-19. It will become more relevant as we move around more with the lifting of restrictions and will help us keep in mind our activities and levels of risk. The graphic is from USA but still relevant to us.

13.01.2022 On the twelfth day of Christmas, Myhealth said to me... Smile, Even If We Can't See It! This is a time to enjoy yourself, smile, be happy and spend time doing the things you want to do. But it is also important to remember that while we are enjoying ourselves and socialising, we need to continue being COVID safe. Try organising an outdoor venue for larger groups where you can stay 1.5m from people you don't live with regularly and maintain good hygiene practices like washing... or sanitizing your hands between tasks. And if you start to feel unwell or develop symptoms, pop on a mask, go get tested and seek further medical advice from your GP. Santa and his troops will be doing their bit to keep us all safe too! - Myhealth

13.01.2022 The grass pollen season brings a seasonal increase in asthma and hay fever. It also brings the chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma. Thunderstorm asthma can affect those with asthma or seasonal hay fever. Having both asthma and seasonal hay fever and poorly managed asthma increases the risk further. Book an appointment with your GP to discuss how you can protect yourself and manage your symptoms through the pollen season. 12.01.2022 From the Chevron to the Handlebar, we support whatever Mo you grow! Movember is an opportunity for men to learn and talk about their health and take action when needed. Here are the top 5 things men need to know, and do according to Movember Australia. 1 Spend time with people who make you feel good. Stay connected. Your mates are important and spending time with them is good for you. Catch up regularly, check in and make time.... 2 Talk, more. You don’t need to be an expert and you don’t have to be the sole solution, but being there for someone, listening and giving your time can be life-saving. 3 Know the numbers. At 50, talk to your doctor about prostate cancer and whether it’s right for you to have a PSA test. If you are of African or Caribbean descent or have a father or brother with prostate cancer, you should be having this conversation at 45. Know your numbers, know your risk, talk to your doctor. 4 Know thy nuts. Simple. Get to know what’s normal for your testicles. Give them a check regularly and go to the doctor if something doesn’t feel right. 5 Move, more. Add more activity to your day. Do more of what makes you feel good. Get involved or donate: https://au.movember.com/
