25.01.2022 On the eleventh day of Christmas, Myhealth said to me... Don’t Give Yourself A Christmas Stuffing! Christmas is all about getting together with loved ones to eat, drink and be merry. On this day we tend to enjoy the Christmas feast that has been made for us, but the next day everyone feels the aftermath of overeating; bloated and exhausted with a slight bit of guilt. ... This Christmas be aware of choosing healthier options, avoid snacking on the Christmas chocolates, watch your portion sizes and as tempting as the last slice of cake can be, leave it alone. New Year resolutions are around the corner, let's get started now! - Nurse Monisha and Peta, Myhealth Liverpool

14.01.2022 On the tenth day of Christmas, Myhealth said to me... Take Time for Yourself! Stress and anxiety can be a burden on your health so take some time to check-in with yourself. A great tip is making an appointment with yourself to control any negative thoughts. During the day when you get a negative thought, tell yourself I will meet you later at our appointment. When the time comes for your appointment, you would have forgotten and realise that it wasn't important to begin with.... - Nurse Asra, Myhealth Merrylands
09.01.2022 On the eighth day of Christmas, Myhealth said to me... HO, HO, HO and HOT, HOT, HOT! Welcome to the hot silly season! It is great to see the big man with the beard in the red suit, but the colour red on your skin is definitely not a good look! Looking like a lobster comes with many risks, including damaged skin that can lead to skin cancers. ... You ask me, as I am social distancing in my blow-up pool in the backyard or swimming in the highest waves, how do I prevent looking like a majestic red sea creature? well, here are the perfect tips for you to follow: 1) Wear protective clothing including wide brim hats, long sleeved shirt, and UV sunglasses 2) Wear sunscreen applied in accordance with package directions 3) Seek shade and limit sun exposure during highest UV periods of the day No matter what type of skin colour you have, there are risks. With this in mind it is advised to have annual skin checks with your doctor. Ask your Nurse or Doctor today for more tips and advice on how to prevent sun damage and become sun smart! - Nurse Rachel, Myhealth North Richmond
04.01.2022 On the twelfth day of Christmas, Myhealth said to me... Smile, Even If We Can't See It! This is a time to enjoy yourself, smile, be happy and spend time doing the things you want to do. But it is also important to remember that while we are enjoying ourselves and socialising, we need to continue being COVID safe. Try organising an outdoor venue for larger groups where you can stay 1.5m from people you don't live with regularly and maintain good hygiene practices like washing... or sanitizing your hands between tasks. And if you start to feel unwell or develop symptoms, pop on a mask, go get tested and seek further medical advice from your GP. Santa and his troops will be doing their bit to keep us all safe too! - Myhealth
