23.01.2022 Situation: You're checking your Facebook feed on your mobile phone (for the fifth time today ...) and notice a Messenger notification from one of your friends! ...Yippee! The message asks Is this you? and has an attachment which appears to be a video. Question: What do you do? STOP. This is a sure sign that your friends account has been hacked, or someone is trying to hack your account. DO NOT open the message, delete it. If you're on an iPhone, slide the message left. On Android, press and hold the message and you'll get the option to delete. And to be on the safe side, advise the friend it came from that they may have had their account hacked. If it looks suspicious, treat it accordingly. And when in doubt, ASK OUT LOUD! #AusFedPolice #askoutloud #SID2017 #ThinkUKnow

18.01.2022 #ScamAlert Fact: The AFP doesnt send emails to you from a Gmail account. Fact: The AFP will never ask for photos of your fingerprints by email.... Fact: Theres a new scam circulating that ironically is claiming to help victims of scams get their money back. The email is pretending to be from the ACORN Management Unit in the AFP this doesnt exist. Remember, Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network (ACORN) is the place to report cybercrime. Dont respond to the email. REPORT and DELETE.
