24.01.2022 New Zealand have just passed a law supporting pay equity, which looks not at equal pay for equal work, but equal pay for work of equal or comparative value. Such a law raises the value of "women's work" - which has often been undervalued in society - and in effect, accelerates positive progress towards achieving gender equity. The gender pay gap has hovered stubbornly between 14% and 19% over the last 20 years, without making any meaningful and significant progress. There has only been a 0.3% decrease in the gender pay gap since November 2018. The results were conclusive. The one thing these top-performing companies had in common? A gender-equal leadership team....
