23.01.2022 Under Medicare for a limited period of time due to Coronavirus for vulnerable patients, there is an option for Telehealth. Not all consults can be managed this way and you must have been seen at the practice within the last 12 months. If you think you need a physical examination, you will still need a normal appointment. ... Certain criteria must be met under Medicare. Currently Medicare states the criteria is: - Has either been diagnosed with COVID-19 but not admitted to hospital, or; - Has been advised to self-isolate themselves in quarantine in accordance with AHPPC - Is considered more susceptible to the COVID-19 virus being: - >70years of age - >50 years of age & ATSI - pregnant - a parent of a child under 12 months old - a person with a chronic health condition - immunosuppressed Please phone the practice if you are eligible with the above criteria & would like a phone consult. 05.01.2022 ****New Medicare changes. As of October 1st, 2020 our normal mixed billing policies will apply to both Telehealth and face to face appointments. There are no special exemption groups once this change comes into effect as per Medicare. For well patients with no viral symptoms, face to face appointments will soon be available to book online once again as well as the continued Telehealth option. We do ask that patients still remain in their car for the GP to call before they ...come up to the practice. We still ask all patients to please wear a mask when attending the practice in person if possible. Any patient that does have any viral symptoms please do not attend the practice in person. This is to assist the efforts to contain the spread of COVID within the community. For patients with viral symptoms, Telehealth appointments will still be available either online or by calling the practice.
