25.01.2022 BLACK TAPS A question we get asked often is if black taps will date quickly and our answer to this is a big fat NO! Black taps are here to stay, take this kitchen for example from one of our projects that was completed in 2015/2016 it is now almost 5 years on and this kitchen still looks just as fesh today as it did then!... Black is a neutral colour that goes with anything, think LBD, a good pair of black pants, a leather jacket etc, black tapware is the same, it also goes with a lot of appliances which other tapware finishes dont. So if you like black, dont be scared by it, it is here to stay! Glad we cleared that one up! #projectwhite See more

24.01.2022 Listen up guys, I have some NEWS! Late last year I started working on something that I have had on the cards for quite some time, Ive been busy with client projects and trying to juggle creating something new and exciting that I TRULY believe in( because I love #growth) Its been fun and exciting, but to be honest its also been a little overwhelming trying to fit it all in ~ weve moved house twice (not fun) and are also trying to finish our renovation off (still a W...IP) so I have decided to take a break, yes thats right Im TAKING A BREAK! Whilst covid has hit alot of us hard Im a HUGE believer that everything happens for a reason and I feel like now is the *perfect* time for me to step out of all the craziness that is going on, recharge my batteries and give myself some much needed breathing space & TLC (because #selflove is also something I truly believe in) to be able to focus on creating this very EXCITING (and top secret for now) venture! I am SO PUMPED! The good news is I will be back with lots of amazing things to share with you all, and feeling fresher and more inspired than ever! Id like to say a HUGE Thankyou to all of my wonderful clients past and present who have continued to show your support, it hasnt gone unrecognised, but for now I wont be taking on any new bookings or projects until further notice as I want to focus all my energy into this new project while I actually have the chance to do so! 23.01.2022 BATHROOM LOVE <3 Bathrooms are my second favourite space to design after kitchens because there are so many elements to consider when you design your bathroom. Often what my clients tell me is that they find all the decision making overwhelming - how many different tiles is too many, which walls do I put them on, what direction should they be laid ... the list goes on!... 19.01.2022 HERE IT IS! A little sneak peek of a special project that we have been working on for almost 2 years! Upon receiving their architectural plans, our clients engaged our services to create a vision for their home, their brief;... monochrome, sleek, a little masculine, and modern. We started off the process by presenting all of their interior finishes and fixtures to them, careful consideration was used to select robust, tactile and sturdy materials as they have 3 spritely young children, so the home needed to be able to withstand a lot of wear and tear. We came up with a beautiful textural palette that errs on the masculine side, this was paramount to the design direction as we knew that the wife wanted a feminine juxtaposition with the furniture pieces selected, it was a marrying of the two; masculine and feminine energies all rolled into one. We sourced all of the furniture for this generous 5 bedroom home, arranged for a stunning commission ink artwork (as pictured) by @fernseibler and installed it all, ready for this beautiful family to move in and enjoy for many many years to come. Mika used to be a typical guy, he had no clue about bed linen, cushions or styling for that matter, a few years on and this diva now wont sleep in "those cheap sheets" anymore, its vintage washed linen *only* excuse me very much! 14.01.2022 Entry details Your entrance really sets the time for the rest of your home, and first impressions do last! Heres a few tips for making your entrance warm and inviting: ... 1. Declutter! Having lots of stuff in your entrance is usually a sign of the chaos to come, it also can subconsciously stress you out as clutter is known to make your mind busy, so if it doesnt need to be there, get rid of it! 2. Give everything a place. For example, a nice box or tray could be used for the sole purpose of putting your keys, same for shoes- We personally dont like having piles of shoes at the door, but if its practical for you to have shoes at the door then why not invest in a show rack or a shoe storage cupboard instead. 3. Keep it simple, the less is best approach works well for your entry or hallway and gives the impression of a calm and inviting home. 11.01.2022 It is really starting to get cold now Melbourne, time to pull out the extra throws and blankets and switch on the electric blanket! If youre really feeling the cold like us, heres a few tips to help cosy up your home this winter; 1.Add a nice big throw in a heavy texture to the foot of your bed to keep you extra warm during the cold nights, we love chunky knitted throws like the one pictured here from our #projectstephens we also love velvet, and chenille... is fast becoming a favourite of ours too. 2.If you can add in a few floor rugs or area runners around your home to help any draughts and to keep your home feeling more insulated during winter 3.Close some doors, this doesnt just help to conserve heat in rooms and help with energy efficiency, it also helps to give a sense of cosiness when you create smaller spaces within one big space, its kind of like how it feels to crawl into your big comfy bed after a long cold day! 10.01.2022 ABOVE OR UNDER? If youre renovating or building and considering your options when it comes to your basins, heres a few things to think about when it comes to above and undermounted basins. LOOKS & FUNCTIONALITY Both above and undermount basins can look great, if we had to pick one over the other though we would go with an above counter basin, while they look good they can also offer a bit more storage in your vanity whereas an undermount... basin is going to take up more of that all important vanity storage space. Wall mounted taps also look great with both types of basins, although wall mounted taps can be a tricker issue to rectify if you do happen to have a plumbing issue down the track, whereas a vanity mounted tap can be easily accessed via the vanity. CLEANING If you opt for an undermount (or inset /below counter basin) then cleaning is generally easier as you can wipe straight into the sink, rather than around it like you have to do with an above counter basin. Having said this sometimes the inside rim of an inset basin can collect a lot of muck where the silicon meets your benchtop. COST You can get good quality above and undercounter basins for around about the same price, however where the cost can creep up is with installation. Generally speaking most builders will prefer you opt for an above counter basin, this is because the stone benchtop wont need to be mitred around the edges where the stone meets the edge of the basin, and it is an easier job for the plumber to install. Which do you prefer, over or under? Does the thought of making all these decisions by yourself terrify you?
