21.01.2022 Who’d agree this is the perfect tree for toddlers!

20.01.2022 Connecting to country and exploring loose parts with play dough in the Pimlico Toddler Room. Today we provided a loose parts provocation for the toddlers. They were happy to all get involved and test their ideas through adding a variety of natural resources to the neutral dough. This was a great opportunity to touch, feel and explore the many textures, smells and sight of the natural wood, shells and seed pods. ... Through this experience the toddlers could practice fine & gross motor hand muscle development such as pinching and pulling using their fingers and to explore the natural wonders that interactions with natural resources brings when used in play. They developed their curiosity skills and tested their theories through play. We will leave this small parts provocation accessible to the children to use in many areas of the room as they continue to test their ideas in play.

19.01.2022 *Pimlico- Toddler B* Hello everyone from Toddler B This week the children have taken an interest in construction and tool play, role-playing with the tools. The children have been busy ‘fixing’ the different equipment and furniture while outside lol. On the 21st of September, we celebrated the International Day of Peace. This day celebrates the power of global solidarity for building a peaceful and sustainable world. Today we wanted to celebrate some of the cultures in the... room and had a sample taste of foods inspired around the world. The children really enjoyed trying different foods. Have a wonderful week! 13.01.2022 **Pimlico Centre** This week is National Week of Deaf. We wanted to recognised this significant week by incorporating some discussions and sign language experiences into our week. The preschool children firstly discussed what it means to be deaf. They thought about important things they wouldn’t be able to hear if they were deaf such as, people talking, music, animal sounds, television ect. They also spoke about how sign language is such an important way for people who are de...af to communicate. Miss Shannon is very familiar with sign language and has been doing it from a young age, so she assisted the preschool children in learning some key signs such as; please, thank you, drink, food, boy, girl, hello, goodbye and the very important phrase I love you. In the Kindy room, Jade demonstrated to the children a few words he was able to sign. The children enjoyed watching and copying his actions. They then viewed a short video on how to sign the letters of the alphabet. We will continue to incorporate what we have learnt into our daily routines as we value the importance sign language brings to communication. If any families are familiar with sign language, we would encourage you join us for an activity! Please contact our office to organise this.

13.01.2022 A few months ago, the Kindergarten children at our Aitkenvale centre planted some vegetables in our garden beds. Over the months they have continually cared for these plants, by watering them and inspecting them daily. Last week we noticed that our carrots had grown, and this week Miss Justine noticed that our lettuce was ready and some of our tomatoes and a capsicum. So, it was decided that we would harvest our first crop of produce.... Once we had harvested our produce, Miss Justine and Miss Cathy washed and cut it up for us to taste. Boy was it yum!
