24.01.2022 CORONA VIRUS UPDATE FROM THE DIRECTOR. Tomorrow will see the release of our updated Managing Illness in Care Policy and Exclusion Policy to become aligned with our updated risk assessment and prevention strategy. Our service WILL NOT close unless a confirmed case of corona virus is presented or higher authorities request we close the doors. ... However, keeping all possible virus and bugs from entering our service is our highest priority to ensure no confirmed cases arise. IT WILL ONLY TAKE 1 CASE CONFIRMED FOR OUR WHOLE SERVICE TO SHUT FOR A MINIMUM 14 DAYS. Things families should know: * if your child or someone in your household presents with flu like symptoms- you are required to exclude all family members enrolled in the service until tested and cleared for corona virus. * test results and medical clearance from doctor will be required upon your child’s return to service. * This same rule applies to our employed staffing of My Little Place. * Families found to not follow our prevention strategy, will leave me with no other option than to cancelled enrolments. * Families are to ensure they are reachable by phone at all times and a 30 minute time limit is applied to requested pick up times. While, I understand how frustrating these measures are, I can guarantee the closure of our service for 14 days, will be far more frustrating. Not to mention the added stress and worry of your child’s health being at risk.

23.01.2022 Please take the time to thank your educators next Wednesday for their ongoing commitment towards education for young children. This year in particular has been harder for everyone. Educators in particular have felt the burnout, of keeping essential workers being able to do their important jobs, often with limited recognition for their ongoing efforts. Yet, we celebrate everyday, the opportunity to be the professional educators scaffolding futures and learning for our young...est community. https://www.earlychildhoodeducatorsday.org.au/

21.01.2022 Our service manager Miss Tracey celebrated 5yrs working with us at My Little Place today, with sparkling cider toasts, cuddles and cards from the kids and plenty of laughs. In these days of stress, it was great to enjoy some light-hearted fun

18.01.2022 We can’t wait to celebrate how amazing educators are on Wednesday. Our deepest Thank you to each and every one of them

16.01.2022 Teaching social distancing in an early years learning setting can be fun Today we included hula hoops in our dance classes to remind children how important keeping some distance is

15.01.2022 Music, singing and dancing is an important tool for our little friends to enhance self-expression and facilitate a healthy outlet for emotion, along with providing opportunities to engage and interact with others. Here are some of our happy videos of this morning group music and circle time lessons.

14.01.2022 Information Update Here is our current update, regarding what measures are in place to support families, children and services if you are unable to attend for medical related reasons or are affected by corona virus. It also includes coverage for precautionary measures in the prevention of children becoming unwell. ... I can say, that in the event the service is closed upon direction of a legislative body higher than us, no attendance fees will be charged. This is likely to be an ongoing situation and we would like to thank all our service families for your support, patience and commitment towards keeping all children in our service safe. Have a lovely evening Tracey https://bit.ly/2U2wuMc

12.01.2022 The most important thing we can give children in life is the ability to make friends. Friendships for children provide numerous important functions including companionship, stimulation, physical support, ego-support, social comparison and affection. Friendships become the testing grounds for new values and behaviours and help children to work out his or her identity. ... Children naturally need to feel liked and accepted and this flows in to foundations for strong self-esteem, trust and empathy. Friendships in young children introduce developmental structures beneficial to psychological health and competence that will continue to carry them through to adulthood. Early learning environments provide opportunities for childhood friendships to be nurtured, be respectful and hold meaning with friends that together may enter prep and remain strong supportive and emotionally safe throughout the following 12 years of school and into adulthood. Seeing children developing lasting friendships everyday, is why I became an early years learning advocate

03.01.2022 Painting with Miss Danielle and Miss Phebe Along with being effective in social distancing, educational and fun. Painting aids children to acquire hand-eye coordination, develops mobility of the hand and muscle, builds children’s focus, cognitive skills and creates opportunities for social interactions linked to emotional outcomes as well. Today we painted the landscapes and gardens of our playground

01.01.2022 Awareness and understanding that children recieve, comprehend and respond to neurological and emotional messages differently. This is the gift we give children every day. At MLP, we build meaningful relationships with each child, reflective of each child’s personality, individuality and idiosyncrasies, and we aim to always amend our responses to an understandable and receptive manner that is respectful to each little personality.
