15.01.2022 Heading out after lunch to see the local lamb producer @jacksspringsfarm met the fabulous Catherine at the #lancefieldfarmersmarket and we bought their dorper, free range, lamb cutlets. Delicious! As a fellow lamb producer we are looking forward to seeing their operation and beautiful property.

12.01.2022 Things escalated quickly this weekend, majority of our ewes lambing with 2nd cross #australianwhite lambs, exciting times ahead for #mikoniparklambs. Singles and twins, a paddock full of white fluffy lambs.. Except for this one, another ewe stole him from his mum and twin sister just after he was born...and then had her own lamb a day later, so decided she didn't want him anymore... So hand rearing this one.. Any helpers? Or does someone want to bottle feed for 12 weeks?? He is just 4 days old. Likes to be inside by the fire and follow you around all day.. Plus "sleeps through the night".

05.01.2022 What an awesome start to the day! 730 am catching the boys from The Meat Room for a short black and homemade pear cake (thanks kathy) break! The passion these two have for their trade and local/home made is infectious. James Mele and Marcel Mandanici clearly know about and love #qualitymeat #brilliantbutchering #localfarmers #homegrown The generosity of time given to us to show us around their prime safe boning room and share stories of lamb, pig and beef production and the end product was simply unforgettable. If you are local to kilmore/lancefield region and you're passionate about your livestock produce then get in contact with these two. James sent us home with an armful of goodies from his garden and enough inspiration to last us for a long time. Doing what you love.
