25.01.2022 The team at MyLocalMind Inc. wish to acknowledge Sorry Day. Observed annually on 26 May, National Sorry Day remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations’. National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people an...d nation. While this date carries great significance for the Stolen Generations and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, it is also commemorated by Australians right around the country. https://www.reconciliation.org.au/national-sorry-day-2020/

17.01.2022 We got so much love on this post the first time we posted it, we thought now would be timely to re-share! #strongertogether #mentalhealthstartshere As governmen...ts are trying to figure out how to ease back into a new normal, please remember: Some people don’t agree with the suggested reopening.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some people are still planning to stay at home.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some are sighing with relief to go back to work knowing they may possibly save their business or their homes....that’s okay. Be kind. Some are thankful they can finally have a surgery they have put off....that’s okay. Be kind. Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job....that’s okay. Be kind. Some will wear masks for weeks....that’s okay. Be kind. Some people will rush out to get the hair or nails done.... that’s okay. Be kind. The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and that’s okay. Be kind. We each have a different story. If you need to stay home, stay home. But be kind. If you go out, just respect others when in public and be kind! Don’t judge fellow humans because you’re not in their story. We all are in different emotional, financial and mental states than we were months ago. So remember, be kind. #throwkindnessaroundlikeconfetti #mentalhealthstartshere #strongertogether #bekind See more

16.01.2022 Rewarding social connections are crucial for humans. Different people will have different preferences for how they connect with others ranging from one on one chats with a close friend over a cup of tea, to someone who thrives in a crowd any chance they get. Whatever your preferred style of socialization it is important that you spend some time connecting with people outside of work and your immediate family. Social self care could include: Join an interest group such as ...a book club, walking group or sports team Practicing healthy communication Share something of your day with someone else Maintain healthy boundaries within your relationships. Having a meal or cup of tea/coffee with a close friend. Call or text someone you haven’t spoken to in a while or who lives far away. Prioritise relationships in your life which uplift and fulfil you, consider stepping back from those that deflate and drain you. Reach out when you need help. Spend an evening with close friends. Write a letter to someone See more

13.01.2022 I am very pleased to confirm that Western Australia has again detected zero new local cases overnight, with another incredible tally of tests conducted yesterda...y. Provided that no cases are detected in the next few hours, Perth, Peel and the South West will exit lockdown at 6pm tonight. This is an absolute credit to Western Australians. By stepping up, doing the right thing, and getting tested in such incredible numbers, we're able to move forward with confidence tonight. As unveiled last night, at 6pm the South West will transition immediately back to pre-lockdown restrictions, while Perth and Peel will move to a transitional stage until Sunday 14 February. Over the coming eight days, it will be critical that we continue to follow the rules and keep up our testing numbers. I am so proud of how West Aussies have responded this week - banding together and getting the job done. The next week still won't be easy, but we will get through this, together.

10.01.2022 Its #WorldSuicidePreventionDay. Act to create a world where fewer people die by suicide. Raising awareness, increasing knowledge, debunking myths and stigma and reaching out to someone can all help. It doesnt have to be big actions, small things can be just as powerful. Take a moment to check in with yourself. Are you okay? Its always okay to reach out for support. You are not alone! ... 2020 has been a challenging year. Our connections are now more important than ever. It doesnt take much to generate a connection to someone - a smile, a few kind words or a familiar face at a regular event. All of these small actions make a big difference. A friendly smile can mean someone doesnt feel completely alone, and a conversation can save a life. Have you smiled at someone today? Did you take a minute to look around and see how those around you are doing? Have you reached out to ask "Are you OK?" or taken the time to listen to someone? #ruok #mentalhealth #suicideprevention
