23.01.2022 Here is the latest newsletter for the MCFC. If you are a member then you will already have it as an email. If you aren't a member and live in Mylor or surrounding towns then perhaps you'd like to join. At least have a laugh at the first sentence from Eileen given the last few days!! Hi Everyone, Welcome to 2021. Let’s hope it’s better than 2020! At least we’re here in Mylor, where it’s safe and peaceful.... Australia Day This year there will NOT be an Australia Day breakfast at the Mylor Oval. This event takes some organising and is a collaboration of several bodies and it was felt that this year, with the COVID uncertainties it was not possible to arrange it. Look forward to a bigger and better event in 2022, and enjoy a lie in for 2021. Clean-up Australia Day It is hoped this will go ahead this year in Mylor. Watch for notices and an update soon. Events at the Mylor Hall As soon as we get the OK from SA Health, the MCFC Committee is keen to organize another Pub Night, and also to resume the Music Nights. We need to be able to accommodate more than 60 seated people in the hall (the current restriction) before either of these events will be viable. Fingers crossed! Council Forum COVID permitting, there is a Council Forum planned for the Mylor Hall on March 30th. Watch for further details closer to the date. Fees The committee realizes that you don’t currently get much for your fees, (though we will offer discounts to members once we can organise some events) but if you would like to remain a member, please renew your annual subscription. Fees are $7.50 per person or $15 for a family, payable into BankSA Account 105-079 305175840 in the name of MCFC (Mylor Citizens Friendship Club). Use your family name and initial as the reference. Many thanks! Volunteers There are many opportunities for volunteering in and around Mylor, if you’d like to connect with the community. CFS is always looking for volunteers in various capacities. The CFS Op Shop operating out of the General Store also welcomes volunteers for as few as 2 hours per month. Mylor Bush Care group, Mylor Red Cross and Mylor Oval are also local organisations who welcome helpers and interested parties. If you’d like more information about any of the items in this news update, please contact us here or at [email protected] See more

14.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who came to the MCFC quiz night last night, a great night was had by all. Congratulations to the winning team, Annette & Steve, Annmarie & Fergus, Ellie & Tamara, Clare, Anne and Ray.

13.01.2022 Wow the Pop-up Pub was a Real Winner! As you know we had the pop-up Pub event at the Mylor Hall last week. It was a roaring success with families with young kids arriving as early as 5pm and people rocking up throughout the evening (and Rockin' to the sounds of the Bradburys) -we estimate that we had maybe 160 people attended at various times during the night - a real Community Event. This post has been delayed partly for the need for the organisers to get our breath back as... we were literally running the whole night with the bar, food and organising. Two trips to the local grog shop were needed because otherwise we were going to run out of wine, Guinness and Pale Ales. A big thanks again to Mismatch Beer who donated their Session Ale which everyone thought was great. We also got quite a few new MCFC members and all members got discounts at the bar. We were so busy we didn't get to take photo's so if you did please send them as comments to this post Thanks to the hard working committee workers for making the night happen: June, Cathy, Eileen, Claire, Lauren, Elizabeth, John and Bob plus the various helpers. And a special thanks to Susanne Arbon who came to help for an hour and stayed for 3!! trooper!! See more
