16.01.2022 What an amazing English Ale tonight! How privileged that Mylor Oval is chosen to host this event! Looking forward to next year already.

16.01.2022 Just spoke to the English Ale organisers re use of the Oval on Saturday. If you're coming to the Oval on Saturday for a walk, to walk your dog, kick a footy or whatever you love to do, you will need to scan in the English Ale Covid QR code. Best to do these things before 4.30, as the Oval will then be closed to ticket holders only (due to Covid restrictions) up until about 8pm.

14.01.2022 Preparations for the Summer Solstice Festival today are underway! The weather is perfect and the volunteers are preparing the space for you and your family to join us for fun and frivolity. 3-10pm today.

13.01.2022 Attention BMX riders and their supporters! News in from Council says they will consider funding for a BMX track in Sherry Park in their business plan for 2021-22. This follows community consultation and a strong supporting submission from the Oval Committee. If successful in the council budget, Council will work on a design in consultation with Mylor Oval Committee and the community. Whoo hootell your friends and get involved! 11.01.2022 POSTPONED Mylorians! It’s been a long time coming, but we’ve finally got a Bushfire Last Resort Refuge!!! But what does that mean and how does it fit into your fire plan? Come and join us on the Oval on Sunday 29 November at 4pm to celebrate and find out more. Stay for a drink and sausage to continue the celebration and welcome in Christmas and the New Year.

09.01.2022 One of the Hahndorf soccer girls recently lost a bag at the oval. If anyone has any info on this, please contact the Mylor secretary - [email protected] Many thanks.

06.01.2022 POSTPONED Due to the covid-19 outbreak and with an abundance of caution, we must sadly postpone our PLR celebrations and information afternoon. Watch this space for a new date.

06.01.2022 The Oval is open and the sprinklers are on

04.01.2022 Did you know that we now have a walking track on the hillside above the oval? Council has approved a couple of ‘low impact’ walking loops, marked by star droppers. Accessible from late Spring to Autumn, look for the informal ford crossing near the BBQ and shipping containers. Please stick to the marked trails.

03.01.2022 Please note that, whilst the fencing has been erected around the oval due to covid restrictions for the English Ale, the Oval is still open for use except on Saturday evening. Note also that entry is only by ticket.

26.11.2021 Mylor Oval Management Incorporated (MOMI) are a volunteer group looking after the Mylor Oval and Sherry Park owned by Adelaide Hills Council (AHC). We are guided by a constitution (see attached) that outlines our purpose. Here are two of the key points from this constitution that talk to our purpose: "To foster and develop the community life of the people within the town and surrounds of Mylor" "To encourage the regular use of the facilities by local groups, except that no g...Continue reading

06.11.2021 ** SAVE MYLOR OVAL TREES!!** (SEE UPDATE BELOW AND COMMUNITY MEETING INFO) This is urgent and important information for the Mylor community. Please take a couple of minutes to read on ... Adelaide Hills Council intends to imminently remove one of the historic poplar trees located on the creek side of Mylor oval to make way for new cricket nets. This tree (part of an avenue of trees on the oval) is 100+ years old and is understood to have been planted by children at Mylor primary school to commemorate former local soldiers from WW1. You may have recently received an email/letter from AHC; 'Community Projects Update'. This information details the proposed BMX Bike track planned for Sherry Park which has prompted the relocation of the cricket nets. This document also outlines the removal of trees including the significant poplar. Whilst the Mylor Oval Committee support the relocation of the cricket nets and development of a bike track that suits the scale and is sympathetic to the natural environment of Sherry Park, we have not, as AHC have suggested, contributed to the design of the plan shown in this document. This is in fact the first we (and the BMX Bike Reference Group set up by AHC) have seen of the proposed plan. The Mylor Oval committee have expressed a clear objection to the removal of this significant tree as there are alternative options for relocation of the cricket nets which the Mylor cricket club are supportive of. AHC have not listened to our feedback and we have called for further community consultation as their process is flawed. If AHC move forward with their plans, this will impact on our unique environment here in Mylor, much loved and visited by many because of its natural beauty and aesthetic. The English Ale Festival have contacted us as they are also concerned about these proposed changes which will have a huge impact on their event and may force their relocation to another town. Although AHC have supported this event, they have not consulted with the English Ale organisers who only heard through the grapevine that they will no longer be able to use the park. Members of MOMI met on the Oval last night with Councillor Leith Mudge to express our concerns and request his assistance in communications with AHC to prevent the removal of trees on Mylor Oval. We hope to have an update to share later today. Thank you for taking the time to read this. **UPDATE ADELAIDE HILLS COUNCIL CONFIRM REMOVAL OF TREES ON MYLOR OVAL** Despite emails sent to AHC today to request (again) that no trees are removed from Mylor Oval, they have confirmed the works will be continuing as planned, as will be the removal of the poplar. This could be as early as tomorrow!! The Mylor Oval Committee will be MEETING AT THE CLUB ROOMS ON THE OVAL AT 6.30PM TONIGHT and call on the community to join us in protesting against the removal of trees and over development of this important community space. Please share widely!

17.10.2021 REMINDER! Mylor Oval Management Committee will hold its AGM tomorrow night in the club rooms. Masks and covid check-in will be mandatory.

30.09.2021 NOTICE OF AGM Mylor Oval Committee will hold its AGM on 27 October at 7pm at the Oval clubrooms. There will be some vacancies on the committee so this is a really good opportunity if you’re part of the Mylor community to get involved in the management of the Oval and how it moves into the future.

19.09.2021 Exciting news! Calling all younger wannabe cricket players! For the first time in over a decade, Mylor Cricket team will have junior cricket teams. U16s will play on Saturday mornings, starting 9 October. For more details, contact Michael Bawdin (0434 602 571). And watch this space for news of U10s!

04.09.2021 Just a heads-up that the council will be removing the cricket nets in Sherry Park, starting Tuesday 28 September in preparation for the construction of the new MYLOR BIKE TRACK. Planning is well underway for the construction of the track and relocation of the nets. Both projects are being managed by the Adelaide Hills Council. Keep an eye on their website, newsletters and social media for more updates.

17.08.2021 Please support our wonderful Mylor Market!
