22.01.2022 I am learning that there is a gentle lesson in this attitude and practice that slowly changes and awakens.....

22.01.2022 Recently I have been looking at compassion and learning to work with it from the perspectives of compassion to others and compassion to self. The Centre for Mindful Self Compassion tells us that: when we approach our experiences with a welcoming stance, when we treat ourselves as we would a beloved friend, our world becomes more spacious. There is room for imperfection. We are not only kinder to ourselves, but also kinder to others. They included this quote from Pema Chodron which struck a chord with me. I hope you find it useful too.

20.01.2022 As 2019 closes, we are all given the task to review the year and see what has been achieved and note where we have fallen short. But the new year offers us the chance to begin again and set our goals anew. Psychologist and author, Rick Hanson, suggests we don’t set a long list of commitments to battle though the whole year but set about change by making one resolution (or perhaps we could call it a practice or theme) for each month. Here are his suggestions: 12 Resolutions ...- one for each month - that together will help you feel happier, stronger, and calmer. 1. Be on your own side 2. Steady your mind 3. Learn to take in the good 4. Become more determined 5. Find the beauty in life 6. Let go of shame and grow confidence 7. Cool your anger and become calmer 8. Honour your desires and increase motivation 9. Create better relationships 10. Become assertive and rise to challenges 11. Deal with fears and realise your dreams 12. Resource yourself and become compassionate You could use these or choose to make your own list. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you well along the journey. Go forward into the year with confidence and joy.

20.01.2022 If you could use more self-love that goes in deep and learn to stop looking outside for what lies within, then come and join Patti McBain and Elinor van Ommen as they present their workshop entitled Exploring Energy Awareness and Self Esteem for the IYTA. Some of the questions we will explore are: Do you feel a lack of worthiness that holds you back? Do you ever feel pressured to do things that don't sit right? Would tools to help you set more self-loving boundaries be use...ful? Are you keen to recycle any fear into more love? It will go live on Sunday 14th June at 09.30am WA time and 11.30am EST. You can book in by going to the IYTA Web-page and pressing the button on the left to go to the What’s on and Events page. https://www.iyta.com.au//2020-06-14-exploring-energy-aware See more

09.01.2022 Please practice a little (or a lot!) yoga every day. It may be as simple as quietly following your breath as you walk, sit garden or practice. Yoga is your jour...ney into opening to your own growth potential with awareness of each moment as it evolves and unfolds. So if things overwhelm me, like they did for me today!.... come back to your short or long yoga practice to bring you back into the present moment. See more
