19.01.2022 PSA: There have been three new positive detections today of COVID-19 viral fragments. Residents of and recent visitors to the following suburbs from between 3-7 June are urged to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and get tested if any symptoms develop: Balwyn, Balwyn North, Blackburn, Blackburn, North, Box Hill, Box Hill North, Bulleen, Doncaster, Doncaster East, Donvale, Mitcham, Mont Albert, Mont Albert North, Nunawading.... Burwood East, Forest Hill, Glen Waverley, Scoresby, Vermont South, Wantirna South, Wheelers Hill. Glenroy, Hadfield, Oak Park, Pascoe Vale. While the unexpected detections may be due to someone who has had COVID-19 that is no longer infectious continuing to ‘shed' the virus, it may also be due to an active but undiagnosed infectious case. The wastewater testing program is designed as an early warning system and a cautious approach is always taken when these detections are found. To see where to get tested, visit https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/where-get-tested-covid-19

10.01.2022 EDJBA COVID-19 UPDATE At present, we still aren’t 100% sure on where Basketball competition for Metropolitan Melbourne will be by the end of the week. Whils...t we are hopeful on restrictions easing this Thursday to what is currently in place across Regional Victoria, there is still no certainty of this occurring. Should the restrictions be eased on Thursday to mirror that of Regional Victoria, this would allow: A maximum of 50 people indoors at any one time in the venue (limited to minimum number of people required to participate and facilitate the activity). This has been classified as per venue not per court unfortunately. This restriction makes it extremely difficult to facilitate games across our venues, which a large percentage are multicourt and multipurpose. The EDJBA do not wish to place undue pressure on clubs with this limitation and therefore games will not proceed this coming Saturday, 19th June. All games for this Saturday, Round 2 will be declared a 0-0 draw and this will be uploaded on PlayHQ shortly. In the meantime, the EDJBA will monitor the advice from Basketball Victoria later in the week to see what this means for a potential return in Round 3, Saturday 26th June. Stay safe. We will be back out there again soon!
