Cold temperature can take its toll on car batteries due to higher power demand. Most modern car batteries usually last about 3 years, so if you think your one might be getting a little old it is always a good idea to get it checked. 2. Check the tyres. As the wet days approach, check your tyre pressure and make sure they are replaced before the tread depth falls to 1.5mm. Otherwise, the tyres have less grip, thereby increasing your stopping distance. 3. Check the lights. Short days and wet weather mean more use of the lights. Not just for you to better see the road but also for others to see you coming. 4. Check the wiper blades. Damage from the summer heat and sun make wipers less effective at removing water. This will make it harder to see out your windscreen in the rain. 5. Get your car serviced.
