24.01.2022 New studies have shown that caregivers of young children are experiencing high levels of stress, with no signs of relief on the horizon. Lucy Rimalower, licensed marriage and family therapist in Los Angeles, explains old methods of coping may not be available to everyone at this time, so it’s important to think about what kind of self-care is realistic for you. Whether it be a 10 minute yoga session or some quiet reflection, these simple techniques can make a world of differe...nce. Taking the time to look out for yourself will provide a better opportunity for supporting your children. #parentingduringadversity #parentingduringcovid #mentalhealthcrisisforparents #parenting #caregivers

24.01.2022 Whenever you are experiencing an unhealthy level of stress, what do you do to unwind? We find taking a moment to reflect and asking ourselves some simple 'de-stress' questions is much more effective than one might think. If you are struggling with high stress and find it is something constantly weighing you down, take the time to ask yourself the following: - What is within my control, and what is without?... - Whose feelings am I absorbing? - Is there a person or persons tied to where the stress is coming from? - Will anything change if I worry about it? It takes courage and a lot of self-checking to keep these thoughts at bay, but we can all agree it feels so much better to walk around with relaxed shoulders. #destress #workrelatedstress #stressfulsituations #copingwithstress #unhealthlylevelofstress #dealingwithstress #howtocopewithstress #stresstherapy #yourtherapist #helpisinmymirror #askyourself

17.01.2022 Remember this scene? *disclaimer* this is not a My Mirror session and not the most accurate depiction of therapy It does pose an important question - what do you wish you could tell your younger self? Self forgiveness and moving past what causes you to ruminate on the past is a big part of how you show up in the future.... Relinquish your judgment and forgive your younger self for doing the best he or she could at the time. Become the person you want to be and be proud of the one you already are. We all have our own story to tell and that's what makes us so special and unique. Congratulate yourself for how far you have come - each new day is another achievement. #motivationquote #mentalhealth #growthmindset #youcantstopme #anxiety #achievetheimpossible #motivationnation #motivationalwords #motivationalpost #selfgrowth #depression #mentalwellness #mindsetmatters #encourageothers #mindsetshift #youareworthit #feelthelove #youcanmakeit #positivequotes #mindfulliving #depressionrecovery #bodymindsoul #takeadeepbreath #emotionalhealth #mindfulnessmeditation #depressedquotes #selfesteem #perfectlyimperfect #selfworth #meditatedaily

16.01.2022 Repost @gottmaninstitute As a parent, it is important to allow your children to grow in an environment where they feel their opinions are welcome and supported. Critical thinkers carefully consider decision making that impacts both their own and other's lives, and raise thoughtful questions to their leaders. Exposing children to unexpected and new experiences at a young age enables them to be more equipped with the skills to engage in complex situations and with respectful ...communication. With this guidance, parents are given the opportunity to teach children how to acknowledge their own feelings, but also think empathetically and understand the emotions of others. #gottmaninstitue #raisingchildren #childrenadvice #parentingadvice #raisingcriticalthinkers #criticalthinking #parentingduringcovid #parenting #helpisinmymirror #raisingchildreninadversity #criticalthinkers #thinkingadvice #parentinghelp See more

13.01.2022 Our emotional state is often a dictator of how we behave, and a lot of men feel they need to be self-reliant and provide for their loved ones, so it’s not appropriate to express their emotions. By doing so, negative feelings are suppressed and it is common for them to become withdrawn or avoid seeking help. For this week’s #mentalhealthmondays, we focus on men and emotions, the way individuals may try to cope with negative thoughts and why it is important to talk and get to k...now your feelings. Men are often told they have to ‘get in touch with their emotions’, but what does this actually mean and how do you do it? Men and women handle emotions quite differently, but it is important that we educate ourselves and others, and provide ways on how to positively deal with our feelings, in order to break the stigma surrounding the idea that men should remain emotionally distant. #mentalhealthmondays #menshealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthsupport #menandemotions #breakingthestigma #supportmensmentalhealth #onlinesupport

10.01.2022 What is the most empowering line of thinking in our eyes? Learning to accept all things outside of your control. 01.01.2022 Now more than ever, work-related stress has become a serious issue for many employees. Through her research, Kimberley Key Ph.D. found that the number one reason a top-employee would leave a company was stress, but is this always noticeable? If you find yourself experiencing stress in the workplace, it isn't something that should be battled alone. Seek guidance from those around you, your managers, or a professional - there is always someone who can help. Practicing self-ref...lection and focusing on techniques to 'de-stress' are equally important and have more of an impact than you realise. Your mental health and wellbeing should never be compromised.
