These may also target organisational and environmental practices to improve the overall health and safety of the workplace." That is what we are here for... - Does your workplace have a health and wellbeing committee that needs steering? - Is your workplace doing this really w...ell? We would love to hear about it what opportunities you all have with your workplaces at the moment in Latrobe Valley. See more

18.01.2022 Food for thought .. Collectively, we are overwhelmed. A pandemic has meant our community and individuals in the Latrobe Valley are facing more unemployment, uncertainty of environment, and likely feeling a little less safe, and maybe little less confident in our routines. This means when you see our posts, you think.. 'physical activity can wait', 'I will be more active with my kids in summer when I don't need to wear a mask' or maybe even ... 'physical activity isn't even top 10 in my priority list now I can leave the house'. So we wanted to know.. where do you rate physical activity in your priorities right now? Are you prioritising it alongside your health and wellbeing, and reaping mental and physical benefits? Or has it maybe dropped down the ladder to account for bigger pictures concerns? See more

18.01.2022 As parents, many of us might find watching our children engage in risky play an anxiety-inducing experience. Somewhere along the line, we got the idea that a good parent doesn’t let their child take risksyet experiencing freedom and fear is critical to building confidence, improving movement skills, and learning to solve problems. Here is our favourite tip for becoming a supportive partner in your child’s play experiences - Instead of saying, Be careful!, you can choose ...to ask your child: 1. What is your plan to get down from the rock, get across the creek, etc.? 2. Where will you put your foot, put the rock, jump off, etc.? 3. What can you use to get across, get over, etc.? 4. Who will be with you or go with you, or help you, etc.? https://activeforlife.com/support-your-child-risky-play/ See more

02.01.2022 When we talking about Children's Physical Literacy, it isn't just a buzzword, or the new trend to include in children's education... The below shows a real and negative trend in Australian children's fundamental movement skills, which lead to confidence and attitude towards physical activity later in life. If you are a part of an Early Learning Centre/Kindergarten or Playgroup in Latrobe Valley, get in touch to see how we can help end this trend
