23.01.2022 Ripper year with these blokes. Super keen for what 2021 has in store for our groups at Ashgrove and across the whole Region! @marist_ashgrove @maristgamechangers

22.01.2022 SO good sharing the year with our Marist Ashgrove Game Changers. Looking forward to celebrate with the Year 7s and 10s. We hope to have EVEN MORE students and schools involved in Game Changers in 2021! Marist College Ashgrove Marist Youth Ministry

20.01.2022 For us as #gamechangers, solidarity is a job for today and for everyday. Check out this excerpt from Pope Francis’ latest encyclical, Fratelli Tutti (on fraternity and social friendship): Solidarity means much more than engaging in sporadic acts of generosity. It means thinking and acting in terms of community. It means that the lives of all are prior to the appropriation of goods by a few. It also means combatting the structural causes of poverty, inequality, the lack of work, land and housing, the denial of social and labour rights. It means confronting the destructive effects of the empire of money Solidarity, understood in its most profound meaning, is a way of making history, and this is what popular movements are doing. 19.01.2022 This is what Church is about, this is what Marist family spirit and solidarity are about. We do this thing called life together - and we do it better together.

19.01.2022 Around this table, the Brother’s would come together, with shared purpose and vision. This Sunday, we’ll continue that legacy, coming together with a shared story, to hear from an absolute legend, Br Ernesto and from some of our own Aussie Bro’s. We’d love love LOVE to have Qld Young Marists at the table and in this exchange, as we add our voices and our ideas to the continuing Marist legacy. 15.01.2022 Our final Connect Night for 2020 was a VIBE! Thanks to everyone who turned out to hear from our guest panel. Sinead, Pat and Tom were dropping wisdom on the night - here’s just some of the pearls they shared: - There’s plenty of opportunity for growth in the mystery - The kindness of the people around me helped me realise the impact of a community... - One of the things that has helped me the most are those tiny little things that connect you - Make sure you have a chance to reset, a chance to check in on your friends, a chance to do something that you like - I want to contribute to the world - I think that’s the key to living a fulfilled life #marist #connect #community #family

15.01.2022 We’re keen for the next Exchange Night, brought to you by US, you’re fave MYM crew in Brisbane! Make sure you register through the link in our bio. We’ll be sharing about self-care, and of course there will be plenty of opportunity to meet other young Marists from across Aus and internationally! See you on Zoom

15.01.2022 Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows | What do you see? Jesus on the Cross looks down to John and says, behold your mother. As Marists, we too are invited to behold Mary as our Mother. But what do we see in her in this moment, standing at the foot of her own Son’s cross? Throughout the whole of Jesus’ life, she held faith, she followed, even to that moment on the Hill. We can turn to her as Mother in our struggles, in our doubts, even in the bleakest moments because she KNOWS t...hose moments, she lived it. Mary our Good Mother, pray for us.

15.01.2022 Today is marked as the day we Marists remember Fr Champagnat, a priest with deep convictions and compassionate approach who kickstarted it all. We celebrate a legacy that includes all of us, who know carry the work forward, in expressions but with the same heart and spirit of Marcellin. St Marcellin Champagnat - Pray for us!

15.01.2022 Last Sunday was Social Justice Sunday and the Australian Catholic Bishops reappeared their Annual Social Justice Statement. This year, the Statement addressed the numerous injustices that impact on and fuel mental in wellness. So, for our prayer today, let’s take up this prayer from the Statement, as we advocate for and stand in solidarity with those who struggle with mental illness, those whose lives are affected by systemic and social injustices that impact their minds and their livelihoods.

15.01.2022 Sorry to all our vegetarian friends, but this was too beautiful not to share! There were many emotions for Marist Ashgrove Year 12s today on their last day of lessons: relief, excitement, jubilation, sadness. For many, this will be the first big transition of their adult lives. We pray for all our Year 12s as they approach ATAR and the final days of high school.

13.01.2022 Don’t believe the hype that the Church is an ancient and dated institution. We, as a Church and Body, are out there on the frontlines DAILY, meeting people in the full breadth of human experience seeking help, service, love and mercy. Faith is belief that is lived and enacted. The best examining questions you can ask yourself are: who do YOU say Jesus is (from today’s Gospel) and what do you do with that faith? https://cathnews.com//39187-nun-named-on-time-s-list-of-10

11.01.2022 Make this your weekly reminder to believe in your one wild and precious life.

10.01.2022 Paint and sip with our #youngmarists - and we all are @trinitycollegeqld alumni! #thanksnancy

06.01.2022 Bowled over by the energy of our Year 10 Game Changers from @trinitycollegeqld and @marist_ashgrove on yesterday’s retreat. We talked solidarity, impact and making a different in our communities! @maristyouthministry @maristgamechangers

06.01.2022 How is Mary present in your life? Or perhaps the better question is: how are YOU present to Mary’s presence in your life? There’s something about Mary. Something warming and comforting about her ever watchful gaze, the arms which both embrace us and also point us to Jesus. Mary, our Good and Loving Mother, pray for us. Hey Fam, I need your help with something. I’m putting together a prayer resource for use in our ministry with students. It’s a prayer about Mary’s protection and guidance. To help with this, I need video footage of images, statues, icons, portraits, carvings, etc of Mary. If there’s a Mary at your school, work place, church or home, take a landscape video and DM it through to us - I’d be super grateful

06.01.2022 One mad band = one wild and precious life. https://youtu.be/f3KtsjaAlQ4

05.01.2022 What does it mean to be Marist today? To answer the call as Marcellin did, but in a 21st Century context? How do we as young people respond with simplicity, humility and modesty amidst our own pressures, challenges and social-cultural norms?

05.01.2022 Anyone else love getting new things in the mail?

05.01.2022 Last call for tonight’s Exchange. Our @mym_qld team will be sharing about SELF CARE - and there will be plenty of opportunity for break out rooms and catch ups with other Young Marists from all around the world. See you online tonight!
