10.01.2022 Originally from India, Nitin and his family made the move to South Australia looking for a better life. We asked Nitin what attracted him to South Australia? I... did a lot of research looking at different cities in Australia. When I read about Adelaide's lifestyle, peaceful life, work culture, time you can devote to family, ease of traffic and housing, it convinced me that this place would be ideal for me and my family - we could see a bright future here. Once they arrived, Nitin registered to attend Immigration SA ‘Welcome to SA’ information session and employment workshops. I found these events very beneficial to help understand how the local job market works and it wasn’t too long before I secured a job with one of Australia’s major banks. In less than a year, Nitin has been promoted to Senior Project Manager within the same organisation, and his wife started her own business running a tutoring centre for primary and secondary school children. Advice to others considering moving to SA? Don't hesitate to migrate to SA. This is a pure gem of a place. In the big cities you may get jobs easier, but the lifestyle is very hectic. But in SA you have enough time for your family and yourself to do the activities you want. People here are friendly and you can talk to them with ease and integrate without an issue. There are so many support services offered too. From a job perspective if you do your homework and try to learn on how to tap into opportunities finding a job will not be difficult. There is no need to be fearful, work hard with the right intentions and there will be no stopping you. My family is enjoying life here and want to live here forever!". Thank you Nitin for sharing your story with us and your beautiful family photo! We love hearing how well you are settling in to life here in SA! Learn more about the many support services available to skilled migrants by visiting the Immigration SA website: https://migration.sa.gov.au/support-services

09.01.2022 We are thrilled to hear from people who have moved to South Australia and want to share their experiences with others. Dinuka contacted us recently to share his... take on life in regional SA: "Since arriving to South Australia so much has happened in the last seven months that my wife and I have pretty much lived a new day every day. We live in Berri, a multicultural town in the Riverland with cafés, caravan parks and vineyards on the riverside, a main street that overlooks the river and other shopping facilities elsewhere in the town. Back in Sri Lanka I was an Automation Engineer for South Asia’s largest apparel manufacturer. Moving to Australia obviously comes with its own challenges and unknowns but that makes everything the more exciting. I am currently working for Accolade Wines’ Engineering Maintenance team. Accolade Wines - Berri Estates describes itself as the largest single operating winery in the southern hemisphere. My present role closely relates with my nominated occupation along with added responsibilities and is in line with my qualification and experience which was exactly what I was looking for in my career. South Australia is a fast developing state in Australia. On the other hand, with its many picturesque wine regions, sandy beaches & adventurous walking trails it can also be refreshingly laid-back, quiet and relaxed with high-quality living standards. So, once you’re done sightseeing, partying or working, you’ll always be able to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of the city life. We simply can’t get enough what the Riverland offers best nature, peace and (of course) it’s wine. We assure that South Australia is a great choice for migrants who are looking to get away from a stressful life. We highly appreciate the many programs that SA Government offers to new migrants in making them more comfortable in a new country and feeling the warmth of the Australian people. While major cities may seem as the obvious choice to search for job opportunities, we also encourage you to look into regional areas specially in the manufacturing and service sectors where prospects are booming". Thank you both Dinuka and Monali for kindly offering to share your story with others who may be considering opportunities in regional SA
