25.01.2022 The front of our hips can be a source of tension and can impact our lower back posture from prolonged sitting. Stretching the front of our hips and thighs can help to combat this tension and it can feel great too. Please see the below video for some different positions to target this region and see which one feels best for your body. Always ensure you are moving gently into your stretching positions, noticing when the first onset of stretch comes on and stay there. These stretches should feel pleasant and relaxing.

23.01.2022 Here is a great article exploring some of the reasons we can wake up with lower back pain.

21.01.2022 Whilst I can not currently see my wonderful clients for face to face care, I wanted to share with you some videos we filmed pre-lockdown that take you through some self care stretches to help combat common areas of tension from sitting at desks or on the couch. Please use these videos as a guide only, and always make sure you listen to your body and keep all movements pain free. Please get in touch if you would like some more guidance or clarrification. Keep moving and I look forward to seeing you when it is safe to do so

19.01.2022 Stretching is something that is often over looked or rushed through in the last few minutes of an exercise class when our minds have already leaped ahead to the rest of our tasks for the day. Although it is a good plan to set aside some time for stretching, it is not always realistic in our busy schedules. The best advice I can give if you find yourself skipping stretching, is to learn how to do some key stretches and insert one or two into your day when you get a chance. He...re is a great article with some easy basic stretches that can be done sitting, lying and standing. The benefits of stretching goes beyond local muscle flexibility and helps decrease stress which is something we can all benefit from at times like these. Try a seated spinal twist at your desk chair, or a gentle forward fold next time you are waiting for the kettle to boil. Stretching feels good and is a chance for us to breathe calmly and focus on ourselves. Have a go and enjoy! https://www.everydayhealth.com//quick-stretches-for-stres/

06.01.2022 The question you have all wanted an answer to. When can myotherapy expect to open for face to face care in stage 4 lockdown regions? While myotherapists can con...tinue to provide care for patients on an endorsed care plan, where in the absence of care a patients condition may deteriorate, all other myotherapy treatments are expected to open on October 19th at the earliest. The Premier states, the move to the Third and Last Steps will no longer be defined by dates in the calendar. Instead, the trigger point for review by their public health team will be based solely on reaching our case number targets. Other updates following our meeting yesterday with the DHHS: we have been advised that there will be no list restricting any health care workers that can provide face to face care as at the 19th October. It is important to note. Telehealth services preferred and density quotient applies. No indoor group classes are permitted (for metro Melbourne) Regardless of their size, all practices must have in place a CovidSafe plan https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/covidsafe-plan PPE and strict cleaning requirements will continue to apply. 04.01.2022 Breathing is one of my favourite topics to discuss with my clients as it impacts all aspects of our health but is not something we often think about consciously. Here is some great science to explain why how we breathe effects our health

03.01.2022 Kinesiology tape can be a fantastic adjunct to your Myotherapy treatment. I am trained in application of Rocktape and would be happy to discuss its possible benefits in assisting functional movement

29.12.2021 We waited with bated breath, in the hope that we would hear the Andrew's government grant Victorian's in need of urgent clinical care access to their trusted myotherapists. After all, myotherapists are ready, willing and trained to be part of the solution. We want to help reduce movement in the community, to provide patients suffering chronic and debilitating pain and/or musculoskeletal issues with access to trusted, effective care in one single movement. ... It simply makes no sense that the Victorian government changed from its own common-sense approach to 'essential healthcare' that permitted myotherapists to see these patients previously; and keep movement in the community to a minimum of patients risking deterioration of their chronic health issues.
