18.01.2022 Checking in on all my beautiful souls? What's on your mind? Are you doing okay? ... It's normal to feel a bit off, lazy or unmotivated. That's okay, sit with it. My advice to you: Time frame the blues. Meaning, have 10mins, 1 hour, or even a day to just be. Sit with it without forcing anything but that emotion. When you have the energy and you have cried it out, slammed a few pillows into walls, stand up. Take a big deep, lung filling breath. Hold it for 6 seconds, then let it out for 8 seconds. Repeat, but with a BIG sigh. Repeat. Repeat again. ....and maybe one more for good measure. Re-assess: Now how are you feeling? Good? Fantastic! This is something you can do ANYTIME . . . . . The main difference between dry needling and acupuncture is the theory behind why the methods work. ... Dry needling’s primarily focused on the reduction of pain and restoration of function through the release of myofascial trigger points (knots) in the muscle. What does it do? When the needle is inserted into the centre of a knot, blood pools around the needle triggering the tight muscle fibres to relax. It helps to provide those fibres with fresh oxygen and nutrients, as well as flushing away any additional acidic chemicals. This reaction, leads to the loosening of the local blood and nerve supply. Everybody is different and can respond differently. Some side effects may occur, including spotting or bruising, fainting, nausea, discomfort or even altered energy levels. These symptoms should last no longer than 24 to 48 hours after treatment. 08.01.2022 Sometimes you gotta let out the FRUSTRATION!! During this time, it's frustrating to not be able to do the things you want, train the way you use to or see the people you want/need to see. I'm not saying you should break things! Not at all. ... You're ALLOWED to feel angry and upset. The message here is to make space for those emotions, let them out in a healthy way with altering the way you so things, find a flow in your daily lives. Work on plans or ideas that have been sitting dormant for a while. Something's I have been working on is: Yoga via YouTube or your favourite yoga teacher (if they are online) Do a staircase workout. Beathing/meditation practice. De-cluttering is amazing in letting go of the old and making room for the new. Working on new projects that get those creative juices flowing. Video chat loved ones for peace of mind. Work on things you CAN do during this lockdown. && Yes, sometimes breaking sh*t helps with letting out steam. If you are training regularly and have a consistent schedule with work- Aim for once fortnight. If you are training heavily and have an active job- You may consider getting a treatment once a week. If you are feeling great and need a tune up once in a while- consider treatment once every three - five weeks. I have clients that I see weekly because treatment to them is a necessity in their week.
